NEW YIN CLASS IN BRIGHTON ✨️

Starting January 9th, you'll find me every Friday evening at the lovely leading a Yin Yoga class ☯️

We'll explore many themes from Yin elements to seasons, meridians, ways to create more space in the body and mind and play with mindfulness and breathwork to get the most from our practice ☸️

Yin Yoga is a big passion for me so I'm excited to be able to share more of the teachings with you.

Suitable for all levels and great if you're looking to ease tension, practice mindfulness, slow down, create space in the facsia and balance out the hectic lifestyles we seem to have these days 👌

AND I'm also teaching the next 3 Fridays at the same time at Space, leading a mindful flow class until the break for holidays. 5th, 12th and 19th December.

A HUGE shoutout to for all the support, teachings, and encouragement over the years 🫶🏽

This weekend, Clare awarded me what is now 500hrs of training through Harmonise, meaning I have more than 800hrs of training certificates in general, having started teaching in 2017. Clare, and all the teachers at Harmonise, past and present, have always inspired me and I'm so grateful to be part of this learning with you all 🙌🏽

As if that wasn't enough, I also had the pleasure witnessing the completion of the latest 200hrs course and it was incredible to be assisting on this from start to finish with Clare and seeing the transformation everyone took over the last few months.

Congratulations to you all on the course, I can't wait to see you again in the community.

Thank you Clare, for bringing Harmonise to life✌️

Making Peace with the Darkness - Winter Solstice Breathwork

Join Jay for a 75-minute Breathwork practice on Winter Solstice, December 21st 5pm-6.15pm at the lovely All About Yoga Studio, Guernsey.

The energy of winter is that of going within. It's thel darkness and silence out of which our soul's yearnings and new inspirations can eventually emerge. As we consciously link our awareness to nature's cycles, our understanding of our own personal growth cycles begin to deepen.

At this time, we are experiencing the longest and darkest nights of the year and the shortest days with the least amount of daylight.

Winter solstice is known for being the darkest day of the year, but the profound and interesting thing to understand about this moment, is that it is also the exact moment when the light begins to return.

This class will start with some tapping and movement to shift stuck energy, before calming the nervous system with the breath, ending with a grounding meditation soaking up the special energy of the day. You will need warm clothes & water. No experience necessary and all levels welcome (unfortunately the practice is not suitable for those who are pregnant).

In his own words: Jay is a breathwork, movement and Yin Yoga teacher with over 8 years of teaching experience. He has taught in the UK, Channel Islands, Spain and India and has a passion for guiding students in a way that is accessible for everyone. Jay loves using props in his classes and encourages students to use these to enhance their practice and get the most from poses. Jay’s special interest is mindfulness and how we take what we learn on the mat, off the mat into everyday life. His classes have a particular emphasis on the breath and how this brings us into awareness of the present moment, calming the nervous system and mind.

The festive season brings up a lot of things for many reasons, for many people. For those in Guernsey, this year I'd like to offer you a space where you can take time out just for you.

This 3 hour mini treat will include:

● Gentle Breathwork and tapping
● Yin Yoga & Yoga Nidra
● Circle time, including journaling promts, sharing and tea

Sangha – A Mindfulness Community Offering for us all

There is a Sanskrit word ‘Sangha’ which one meaning translates to ‘Community’. In spiritual circles, Sangha’s are formed for folk to come together and support each other through mindfulness practices, self inquiry and to experience deep listening & sharing.

Growth is achieved, not only through self-practice, but through connections we crave from likeminded people.

I have an offering for you - To gather for an online community where we can come together, share ideas and deepen some of our spiritual practices. This could include:

• Option to meet online every month (or every 2 months) of an evening for around 60 minutes
• Satsangs – talks on mindfulness, self inquiry, shadow work and philosophy
• Meditation & Breathwork – the chance to utilise these practices at the start or end of sessions to sit together in sacred silence
• Sharing Circles – along with Satsangs, have the opportunity to discuss relevant mindful topics
• Deep Listening – to practice one of the most powerful healing tools when we allow each other the space to listen deeply

When you consistently practice watching the movement of life, by witnessing the movement of thoughts, feelings, day and night, a realisation arises. The 'you' and all your history, story, is also being witnessed by another level of consciousness.

This consciousness is not meditating, is not a thought, does not come sometimes and disappear sometimes, but instead is ever present.

Its beyond 'I don't get it' or labels of 'esoteric'. A pervading silence, a silence within silence perhaps.....

Its not something you obtain, or need to go somewhere to get. Just watch whatever arises in your day and the realisation will appear naturally.

This is the place where you are able to delve into the deepest parts of the mind, known as the shadow. Once your monkey mind is absorbed into something much bigger, you begin to unravel many of the conditions that keep you feeling trapped.

Watch and keep watching all that arises without a goal of arriving or experiencing anything 👌

I discovered the power held within

My yoga journey started because like a lot of people, I struggled with family drama, love and a busy job and I wanted to find an alternative way to manage my wellbeing. I remember going to my first yoga retreat in Spain and crying at the end of class but not really sure why. I soon realised I was on a path to self discovery, to a new world where not only was I feeling better physically but was gaining awareness over my thoughts and their unhelpful patterns.

I now teach because I want to share the freedom that yoga, meditation and mindfulness gave to my life, to my mind. Everything I have learnt comes from a place of experience, a place of knowing, a place of observation. The key is to learn on the mat, for when we are off the mat….

I also work with others on a spiritual path to bring healing and insight to current blockages in the energy body and help shift perspectives and beliefs that limit the mind.
