How fortunate I am to live in close proximity to my band mate Lucy whom I can sing and play around with my new songs 🧡

ALWAYS UP FOR A SING 🪐💫🎶🤩

This one is called “Deepest Winter” one that I wrote recently abroad in hotter climates pondering the return to cold ol’ Blighty 🥹 🥶 💛

Most of my songs have some sort of element of Peace in them as does this…

Deepest Winter is upon us now
And we shall gather Together and sow our Seeds
For we all Know
That when we are One
That Spring will Come
And Grow our Hope

I’ve enjoyed sharing this in my groups these last couple of weeks and I imagine it’ll be sung until we are out of the deepest winter into the joys of Spring! 🌱☀️

If you’re local to Brighton we’ll be doing a performance at 2pm with my singing mamas Mamas groups and my Women’s Evening Singing Circle ☺️🎶🙌
This is such a special time as it’s an opportunity when the women in my groups are able to meet in person and sing the songs that they’ve all learnt and sung apart🧡
So they are already connected ✨
There’ll also be some wonderful activities for all the family including wreath making and willow dream catcher making ✨✨
Plus a thriving makers market!

It’s true! 😮🥲😀
We don’t just sing at 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽….

Of course we sing THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SONGS IN THE WORLD TOGETHER and feel ALL THE GOOD FEELS 🧡🫶🏽🎶💫✨

We also eat delicious cake and drink tea 🫖

This is a really special and valuable time after the singing where everyone can hang out, chat, catch up and connect some more whilst being fed tasty treats and lovely hot brews 🧡

You can see in the picture a delicious apple cake that my mum made for Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) where we eat sweet honey and apple. It was a one off as I ALWAYS make vegan banana bread so I think was quite a nice surprise that week for some mamas 🤭😂🫶🏽

You can hear my beautiful multi generational Patcham Singing Mamas group singing Belle Mama, a song from Camaroon, an absolute Singing Mamas classic, we had a new mama today so thought that it was just a lovely way to introduce her to our circle.. followed by song “Naked in the Garden”!! 🌱

We have space in all my gorgeous singing mamas groups in Brighton (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings) so get in touch if you want to come and be part of this incredible community of women 🙌

What a lovely way to spend a Saturday evening; leading songs around the fire with those who are work in nature and Forest School’s here in Sussex 🌱

I shared a few singing circle songs, ones we sing in my groups and a few Solebound songs, which are mostly al about nature and the changing seasons so was very fitting!

First song is Ali Burn’s song “Some nights” then The Wailing Jennies “Wild Flowers” and finally my song “The Road”

Autumn Forest 🍂

Oh I just love Autumn!
It’s always been such a fertile time for my writing and creating 🍁🍄‍🟫🍂🍄

I wrote this song a few weeks ago and shared with a few friends with getting back to me saying she’d already worked out some harmonies and here we are, collaboration in action, thank you Katy ☺️🧡

Me and Katy have only met in person once before but have connected many times through WhatsApp, mostly singing parts of songs down voice notes 😅🙌🎶

BBC News shared new research today from King’s College London showing that specially designed singing groups are clinically effective in helping mums recover from postnatal depression — and the positive effects last up to six months longer than the sessions themselves. 💛

Mums in the study found singing together reduced stress, boosted mood, and helped them bond with their babies and each other. One said, “I walked in and thought — this is my safe place.”

I see this every week in my own group — how shared breath, gentle harmony and connection help lighten the load. It’s not about being a singer — it’s about belonging, calm and joy.

It’s a welcome addition to the growing research on the power of singing for mental health. 🎶

What does it mean to be a “community leader”??

Here are some thoughts of mine as a community leader here in Brighton 🙋🏽‍♀️🧡 🌊🎶

Connection

The desire to bring people together in community is a real part of my culture and how I’ve been brought up, so entering this world of creating circles, spaces, and communities felt natural to me and I love seeing and experiencing what I’ve created 🙌😀🧡

I wrote this song on International Woman’s Day last year and this is it first outing 🧡🌱🌍
We hold so much as women, as mothers, as friends, as sisters 🧡
These Circles are so important to our well-being in a world that is often very isolating, divisive and lacking compassion 🧡
I’m forever grateful to not only run Circles but to also be part of them, be an equal voice and to receive as much as I give 🧡

Women need Women
Whatever their background
We all want Togetherness
And an easy life right?!!!
And support?!

Women do not deserve to be blocked, cancelled or silenced 👌😊🧡

There will always be a place for ALL WOMEN in my Brighton groups, come and find us 🧡
