“Pilates is a practice in moving well, living fully, and returning to life.”✨

Classical Pilates is the original Pilates method. The exercises, principles, and order as created by Joseph Pilates himself. It stays true to his system, his equipment designs, and his intention: to create a body that moves with strength, control, and balance from the inside out. Practicing Classical Pilates with a teacher that gets the entire system is a reminder that the body hasn’t changed, only our attention around what Pilates is has. When practiced with the right intent, Pilates becomes more than exercise.
It’s a practice in moving well, living fully, and returning to life, just as Joseph intended.

In Classical Pilates, the arms don’t work in isolation, they connect deeply into the back. Every reach, press, and pull begins from the powerhouse, with the shoulders and back muscles supporting the movement.

When you press your arms down on the Mat, or pull the straps on the Reformer, you’re not just “working the arms”, you’re working the whole upper body and using the connection of your arms all the way down into the back of the hips. This connection builds strength, stability, and balance, while protecting from over working the shoulders and also helps improve posture.

That’s the beauty of Classical Pilates: nothing moves alone, everything works in harmony and always from your centre.
