lifeFIT is a small group of fully equipped gyms and personal training studios aimed at helping people over the age of 35 to achieve your health and fitness goals. lifeFIT has been designed to help our clients maintain fitness while keeping on track with the rest of life, family, work, eating out, coffee! There is mounting evidence demonstrating high intensity exercise, performed once or twice a week, is more beneficial than more frequent lower intensity training. Most people regard high intensity training as tuck jumps and burpees or similiar exercises. While these are high intensity exercises they can lead to injury as the impact through the bones and joints takes its toll. My low impact high intensity style of training, provides intensity through changes in muscle tension, and changes in speed of movement. This is a highly efficient method for;

Increasing metabolic rate
Increasing back strength
Reducing fat
Improved bone health
Enhanced flexibility
Increase lean muscle

There are other benefits too;

Safe, no one is injury free, but this method of training reduces your risk of injury while exercising and improves your resistance to injury while undertaking everyday tasks. Reduces stress and muscle tension
Improved sleep
Increased confidence
Improved neurological conditioning for enhanced motor skills
Improved body shape
Toned for a finer appearance

Lots of people love training outside in the parks of Brighton and Hove, or down by the beach. There truely is nothing better than training first thing in the morning on the beach. I have access to studio space in Davigdor Road and Kemp Town for occassions when the weather is not suitable to train outdoors. For your free taster session, contact me.

Most people miss their health and fitness goals for three simple reasons: they lack a clear plan, they rely on motivation instead of consistency, and they don’t truly know what their body needs as they get older. That’s where a personal trainer changes everything. A good PT removes the guesswork, builds a plan that actually fits your life, and keeps you accountable when your motivation goes missing. With expert guidance, proper technique, and a structure you can stick to, your goals stop being wishful thinking — and start becoming results.

If you want to feel fitter before Christmas, keep it simple and consistent — no crash diets, no heroic workouts, just solid habits. Focus on three things: daily movement (walk more than you sit), two to three strength sessions a week, and eating real food most of the time. Small changes now add up quickly, and you’ll head into the holidays feeling stronger, lighter, and far more in control. Start today, not in January — future you will thank you.

Walking is one of the best recovery tools you’ve got — it boosts circulation, reduces soreness, and clears the head without beating up the body. But when it’s time to rebuild strength, structure, and resilience, that’s where lifting comes in. Strength training repairs, reinforces, and future-proofs your body. Walk to recover. Lift to rebuild. It’s the perfect partnership for staying strong and moving well at any age.

Chasing perfection is like chasing a rainbow — looks pretty, but you’re never actually going to catch it. What you can catch is improvement: one better choice, one stronger rep, one more consistent week. That’s where real results live. Perfection is fantasy. Improvement is reality — and it’s far more achievable, sustainable, and rewarding.

Mobility isn’t just something you do before a workout — it’s how you keep your body running smoothly day after day. Think of it like brushing your teeth, but for your joints. A few minutes of focused movement every morning keeps stiffness at bay, improves posture, and makes everything else you do feel easier. Think of mobility as maintenance, not a warm-up.

Simple Morning Mobility Routine (5 minutes):

Neck Rolls – Gentle circles, 5 each way.

Shoulder Rolls – Big, slow rotations, 10 each direction.

Cat-Cow – Open the spine, 10 reps.

World’s Greatest Stretch – 5 per side.

Hip Circles – 10 each way.

Bodyweight Squats – 10 controlled reps.

Arm Cross Swings – 20 seconds to open up the chest.

No equipment, no sweat — just movement that keeps you moving well.

Your back might be strong, but it’s not built for heroics. Every time you round and yank instead of bracing and driving through your legs, you’re gambling with your spine. Protect it — hinge at the hips, engage your core, and let your legs do the heavy lifting. Your back is not a hero. Lift with your legs

Forget chasing the number on the scales. At 40+, fitness isn’t about being smaller — it’s about being stronger, steadier, and more confident in your own body. Strength training builds muscle, protects your joints, and boosts energy so you can keep doing the things you love.

Cardio is great for keeping your heart pumping, but strength training is what keeps you capable. Lifting builds muscle, protects your joints, and makes everyday life easier — from carrying shopping bags to keeping up with your kids. Cardio keeps you alive. Strength keeps you useful. Do both, and you’ll thrive.

Your body runs like an engine — feed it rubbish and it splutters, feed it real food and it flies. Whole, unprocessed foods give you steady energy, sharper focus, and better recovery. Processed foods, on the other hand, just spike your blood sugar and your cravings. Fuel for performance, not for regret.

A strong week starts with a solid plan. When you schedule your workouts, meals, and recovery time, you take control instead of leaving things to chance. Planning removes decision fatigue, builds consistency, and keeps your goals front and centre — even when life gets busy. Don’t wing it; map it. Your results depend on what you plan, not what you promise.

Train safely to train consistently to get results!

Pushing hard is great — but pushing smart keeps you in the game. Training isn’t just about how much you can lift today; it’s about how well you can move tomorrow. Listen to your body, respect recovery, and focus on good form. The goal isn’t exhaustion — it’s progression. Train smart today so you’re strong enough to do it again tomorrow.
