💥 Cervical Nerve Root Impingement (Cervical Radiculopathy) 💥
This happens when a nerve in your neck gets compressed or irritated — often from a herniated disc, arthritis/bone spurs, or trauma.
🔎 Common Symptoms
• Neck + arm pain
• Numbness or tingling in the arm/hand/fingers
• Weakness (grip, lifting, pushing)
• Symptoms usually follow a specific nerve root pattern:
• C5 → Shoulder pain, weak deltoid
• C6 → Pain into thumb, weak wrist extension
• C7 → Pain into middle finger, weak triceps
• C8 → Pain into ring/little finger, weak grip
🧪 Diagnosis
• Clinical exam + MRI
• Spurling’s test (turn head + pressure reproduces symptoms)
• EMG nerve testing (if needed)
✅ Management
• Rest + activity modification
• Physical therapy (posture, traction, strengthening)
• Medications (NSAIDs, nerve pain meds)
• Injections for persistent pain
• Surgery only if severe/progressive weakness or spinal cord compression
💡 Most cases improve with conservative care 🙌
🚨 But if you notice worsening weakness, severe pain, or balance/bowel/bladder changes → see a doctor immediately.
✨ Protect your neck. Stay strong, stay informed. 💪
