You know it’s going to be a great day when your friend asks you to cover her class at the newly opened run by the talented and lovely, Laura.
However, when a magical rainbow signals a bright new day and a seagull poops on you on the cycle home it would appear that good fortune is abundantly present.
A special mention to the spirited ladies who got up and out of bed for 07h class. Your body’s will thank-you for the early care and attention!

This app has just been launched with researchers at Guy’s & St Thomas’ & King’s college to help slow the spread of and identify at risk cases sooner by self-reporting your symptoms daily, even if you feel well 🙏🏼. Download the app
https://covid.joinzoe.com/

Please share the app with others. They need to get this to a lot of people fast to collect enough data to see the hidden cases. Thank you! App is fully functional and will look better over the next few days!

Share the app and share your “well/ill” status and let’s get some data for the policy makers to work with. Any input and feedback will all help to capture what’s going on in the community vs just what we’re capturing in tertiary care. It all helps. Thank you so much.

COVID Symptom tracker lets anyone healthy or with symptoms share valuable information with researchers and the NHS. Just take 1-minute to self-report daily, even if you are well, to help identify (a) How fast the virus is spreading in your area (b) High-risk areas (c) Who is most at risk, by better....

Happy 13th to me!!!
Today I am a teenager.
And to celebrate a little inversion and stretch for the hammies.
Last weekend I ran in 2:06:04 in super-windy conditions. Not bad considering I only relaxed shoes in December.
All-in-all growing old really is a state of mind.
Guess being 13 makes me still very adolescent!
Happy special day to all Leaplings around the world!

An assist in dhanursana / bow pose makes such a difference.
By placing a small lift under the floating ribs the anterior spine can extend upwards whilst leaving the shoulder blades space to release fully. It also means the public bone can stay in contact with the ground. Try it...you’ll be amazed.

And yes, this was “leftover” from the last challenge (my first incomplete) when life seemed a little too busy for fun things.
The balance is being restored!

So...
The arrival of my running vest meant two things:
* I need to get serious about training
* asking for sponsorship is a must.

I went to yoga class this morning with a hamstring that was so sore it was waking me during the night. It would appear that I aggravated it yesterday afternoon whilst being “practised on” and although the sensible voice inside my head was saying “just walk home” my heart won the battle and off I went.
It was horrible.
Wind. Dull, incessant pain. Earbud that wanted to escape.
is 22 days away.
I know I will complete the 13.1 miles and only coming back to running for 2 months I guess I should be chuffed to bits.
But I’m good / terrible at setting myself goals and a “decent” time is where my heart is at!
Oh, and 350GBP for !

Day 1

Hosts:yogini

Sponsors:

Pose list:
1- seated hip opener
2- yogi dandasana variation
3- lizard variation
4- inversion
5- baby cradle variation
6- arm balance of choice
7- yogis fave hip opener .

Baddha Konasana / Bound Angle & Gomukhasana / Cow-Faced Pose

I couldn’t choose which one was my preference for seated hip-opener especially after a (quite tough) training run (see next post!) so here we have as much as my hips will allow for today. I am very pleased I am practicing within my capabilities rather than my desire to reach where I used to be when I was movement-based as my job.
Very much looking forward to a week of tenderness for my pelvis!

Bakasana / Crow Pose
(playing catch-up)

I honestly forgot that I liked this arm-balance!
“Yogis choice” can re-surface asanas that are always the last ones to get an airing.
Thank-you, dear Hostesses for a lovely and sparkly challenge. Apologies for finishing late 🙏🏻

This weekend I was fortunate enough to be on retreat with the lovely at Florence House.
Without question, the yoga was meaningful, expansive and lighthearted. I feel topped-up from within. The food was good, Winter fodder with hearty dishes made wheat and dairy free. And the surroundings...wow!
I had no idea that Seaford was so pretty until I went running. Yes, the hills killed me and the mud nearly took my feet from under me every few strides but the air was so clean (in comparison to B+H) and the views were stunning. Seven Sisters is simply breathtaking.

I am so happy I got to have this weekend so early into this new year / new decade.
New friends were made.
Nature in all guides from foxes interrupting practice, to beautiful birdsong, a squirrel carrying a piece of sweet potato the size of its head, gifted pebbles of interest and beauty to the rescuing of a wind battered bumble bee.

Some of the yogins thought it was funny that I took bucket and sponge and cleaned Ridley. But look at how he sparkles...!

Salabhasana / Locust Pose

This is the forgotten pose and I remember how much I like it everytime I take the floor. Hugely beneficial for the back of the body.
