Taking place fortnightly, we are lucky enough to have Dada Paramasukha, a young yogic monk lead our Brighton classes. We basically aim to understand ourselves and the world around us a lot better. The practices we explore mainly derive from a classic, tantric, Indian yogic philosophy, called "Ananda Marga". Ananda Marga has a holistic and practical approach to meditation. We will also introduce other useful philosophies and practices that will enhance our classes. Our page will be a forum for exchanging positive ideas and videos centring on the nature of the mind, our lives, and the state of society as a whole.

On Thursday, September 21st at 7.30pm we will be holding a meditation class at the Rise (Rye Bakery), Whittox Lane, Frome, in the Old School Room. The class is free to attend.

This week we will consider the topic: “What does it mean to be alive? How meditation can make our lives more meaningful."

This meditation class will be hosted by Dada Jyotirupananda, a yogic monk, practicing and teaching a system of yogic meditation from an ancient Indian tradition. He is a disciple of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti (1921-1990), a modern Yogic master.

Dada has been teaching meditation for over 35 years and has experienced innumerable benefits in his life, and has seen wonderful benefits for many people through meditation. We are welcoming Dada back following a well received class he gave in Frome in May.

He has taught meditation in about 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and North America.

Dada is also author of the respected book: “Meditation: Searching for the Real You” which has proved quite meaningful to many of its readers.

Man is the highest evolved being... No other being has such a clear reflection of his consciousness. He can distinguish between good and bad with the help of his consciousness and when in trouble, he can with its help find a way out. No one likes to live in misery and suffering, far less man, whose consciousness can find
out means of relief. Life without sorrow and suffering is
life of happiness and bliss and that is what man desires.
Everyone is in quest for happiness; in fact it is man's
nature to seek happiness. Now let us see what one does to
achieve it and whether it is achieved by those means.

In his search for happiness man is first attracted by
earthly enjoyments. He collects wealth, tries to achieve
power and position to satisfy his desire for happiness. One
who has a hundred is not satisfied with it. He strives for
thousands but even possessing thousands does not satisfy
him. He wants a million and so on. Then is it seen that a
person having influence in a district wants to extend it
over the province. Provincial leaders want to become
national leaders and when they have achieved that, there
creeps in the desire for world leadership. Mere acquisition
of wealth, power and position does not satisfy. .pa 03 The
acquisition of something limited only creates the want for
acquiring more and man's quest for happiness finds no end.
The hunger for possessing more is unending. It is limitless
and infinite.

However dignified or lofty the achievement, it fails
to set at rest man's unlimited quest for happiness. Those
who hanker after wealth will not be satisfied till they can
obtain unlimited wealth. Nor will the seeker of power,
position and prestige be satisfied till they can get these
in limitless proportions, as all these are earthly objects
of the world. World itself is finite and cannot provide
things infinite. Naturally, therefore, the greatest worldly
acquirement, even if it be the entire globe, would not
secure anything of an infinite and permanent character. What
then is that infinite, eternal thing which will provide
everlasting happiness?

Cosmic Entity alone is infinite and eternal. It alone
is limitless. And the eternal longing of human being for
happiness can only be satiated by realization of the
infinite.
