Growing older doesn't mean giving up the life you know.

Our new blog shares practical tips on staying independent for longer and how families can support without taking over.

👇 Read the full guide here

Getting older doesn't mean giving up the life you know. With the right support and a few adjustments, independence can last much longer than you might think.

80 families. 12 weeks. £20 worth of fresh fruit and veg, every single week. 👇

Caafi Health has been working to make sure families who are too often left behind get healthy food, health checks, nutritional advice and financial support. But what we're really working towards goes deeper than that. Education. Awareness. A long term shift in how families think about and access their health.

Because real change doesn't stop when the 12 weeks do.

See it for yourself.

Expecting a baby? Find out more about the Generation Study.

We’re inviting pregnant women to join a friendly, informal workshop to learn more about the Generation Study — a UK-wide research study looking at health from pregnancy through childhood.

There’s no obligation to take part in the study; this is simply an opportunity to learn more.

The Generation Study https://www.generationstudy.co.uk/ offers parents the option of a free, safe genetic screening test for their baby shortly after birth, which checks for over 200 treatable genetic conditions.

Early detection can make a real difference to health outcomes, and participation also helps improve care for future families.

We are hosting an online information session where expectant parents can find out more and ask questions directly to an experienced research midwife and senior genetics professionals:

In the UK, more than 420,000 people are diagnosed with cancer each year, which means someone is diagnosed at least every 90 seconds. (Macmillan Cancer Support data)

Early detection, open conversations, and prevention really matter to early cancer diagnosis. Thanks to all the cancer screening, awareness campaigns, and research, now more cancers are being caught at an earlier stage than in the past, which improves outcomes, but there’s still more to do!

Join us on the 4th of February, World Cancer Day, at Wellspring Surgery to learn about different cancer screening and become a cancer champion to fight cancer!

Meet our cancer champions on the day, learn more about the project, grab resources, and discover more local and Macmillan cancer support services.

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, yet it still affects thousands of women in the UK every year.

Regular NHS cervical screening (smear tests) and the HPV vaccination save lives. Screening checks for high-risk HPV and helps stop cervical cancer before it starts.

This week, let’s remind ourselves and others to:
✔️ Attend your NHS cervical screening when invited
✔️ Encourage friends and family not to ignore their smear test letters
✔️ Support the HPV vaccination programme for young people

All women aged 25 to 64 are invited for cervical screening every 5 years. Everyone with a cervix should be offered screening.

Regular cervical screening is important. You’re still at risk of cervical cancer even if you:

• Have had the HPV vaccine
• Have only had 1 s*xual partner
• Haven’t had penetrative s*x
• Have had the same partner, or have not had s*x, for a long time
• Are a le***an or bis*xual
• Are a trans man or a non-binary person with a cervix
• Have had a subtotal (partial) hysterectomy that did not remove your cervix
