🎸🔥 What a dad's night out! 🤘

Saxon stormed back into the Bristol Beacon last night with one of their best shows in years — pure, unapologetic British heavy metal at its finest.

With Hell, Fire and Damnation tracks alongside classics like Denim and Leather and Princess of the Night, Biff Byford and the band showed that 40 years on, they can still deliver an electrifying show packed with power, humour and heart.

Joe, who first visited just after the fire to lift spirits with one of his PE with Joe sessions, promised he’d come back once the rebuild was complete — and he kept his word! He toured the brand-new classrooms, library and hall before leading pupils in another high-energy workout.

Six Broadoak Academy House Captains proudly represented their school at the Uphill War Memorial, joining a moving Service of Remembrance alongside Associate Assistant Principal for Culture, Rose Hooke. 🌹

Back at the Weston-super-Mare academy, the whole school paused for a two-minute silence, with a beautiful performance of The Last Post by Head of Creative and Performing Arts, Naomi Aves. The event was made even more special by a visit from Liz Brown of the Royal British Legion, continuing Broadoak’s strong partnership with this important organisation.

Students were also invited to wear their Scouts, Guides or Cadets uniforms, taking part in a heartfelt act of remembrance that truly reflected the academy’s values and community spirit. ❤️

🪵✨ Building skills, confidence and creativity!

Young Woodworkers is a brilliant new Bristol-based organisation offering fun, hands-on woodworking lessons for children — including daytime sessions for pre-schoolers (ages 3–5) and an after-school club at Avanti Gardens School.

Under the guidance of founder Ben Everard, children learn to use real tools safely and confidently, creating everything from small wooden models to glowing Christmas decorations!

🎄 This November and December, little makers can even join a Christmas Bauble Workshop to craft their own light-up tree decoration.
