Young Carers Action Day – 11 March 2026 💙
Today is Young Carers Action Day, a day to recognise children and young people who help care for a family member who may have a disability, illness, mental health condition, or addiction.
Many young carers take on responsibilities such as helping with household tasks, supporting siblings, managing medication, or providing emotional support. While they play an important role, caring can also affect their wellbeing, school life, and social opportunities.
If you are a young carer, or know a young person who may be one, support is available in Bristol.
The Carers Support Centre provides support for young carers aged 5–17, including advice, wellbeing support, groups, and opportunities to meet other young carers.
You can find out more or access support here:

Young carers can also speak to their GP, school, or another trusted professional if they need help.
Young carers do an incredible job, but they shouldn’t have to do it alone. If you or someone you know might be a young carer, please reach out for support.
