Delighted to see my patient, Mylo doing so well today! However I did feel very bad about having to lure him out of his cosy, stylish cubby hole 🤭

I've been working with Mylo and his lovely family to help rehab him following bilateral Achilles tendon injury. They have been so dedicated with his home exercise and therapy plan, and we are really starting to see the results now!

It's also wonderful to work alongside other professionals on cases, and Mylo has just started hydrotherapy with the team at the , so I'm very excited to see how the addition of exercising in the underwater treadmill is going to aid his recovery.

For any therapists reading this - I would really encourage you to try and collaborate on cases! We get such fantastic results for our patients when we all bring our expertise to the table and work together 💪

So excited to be welcoming therapists onto my Business Accelerator programme again! 💛

Initial consultations can feel a bit scary...

If you’ve ever felt nervous before a first appointment, I just want you to know that you are definitely not alone! This is such a common feeling BUT one that you can truly do loads to improve.

Because confidence isn’t something you either have or don’t have — it’s something you build, and there are some really simple ways to support yourself in developing this!

Here are 5 practical tips to help you feel calmer, more prepared, and more confident in initial consultations 👇

👉 And if you’d like loads of free business tips, confidence support, and behind-the-scenes advice, comment LIST below to join my email list.

1️⃣ Gather as much information as possible beforehand
Medical history, vet reports, previous treatments — and I love videos, especially in equine practice. The fewer surprises, the calmer you’ll feel.

2️⃣ Give yourself proper prep time
Preparation really does breed confidence. Review forms, notes, videos, and even refresh yourself on a condition or discipline you’re less familiar with.

3️⃣ Plan the logistics
Travel time, location details, gate codes, kit packed and ready. Removing small stressors helps the whole session run smoothly.

4️⃣ Follow a clear, repeatable system
Have a set order for how you run initial consults. Even if you’re nervous, you can fall back on your system and know you’re not missing anything.

5️⃣ Take. Your. Time.
Pause. Think. Then continue. Rushing clinical exams or discussions often leads to saying things you later wish you’d worded differently.

Confidence grows from preparation, structure, and giving yourself space to think 💙

If you found this helpful, let me know in the comments — and if there’s anything else you’d love me to share thoughts on, tell me!

Do any of my canine physio connections cover Swindon UK?

I only cover that area for equine appointments, where I can see multiple at once!

Happy New Year! 🎉

January is such a great time to pause and set some goals for the year ahead. Goals help keep us focused on the direction we actually want our career and business to go in — and when they align with your bigger vision, all those small steps really do add up.

I’d really encourage you to set a mix of goals:
• business goals
• clinical development goals
• personal goals (including things like work–life balance and your own happiness)

Try to make them specific and measurable, and don’t forget to review them regularly — I check mine every 3 months so I know whether I’m on track.

✨ Action for you:
Take a little time this week to write down your goals for the year ahead. And if you feel like sharing one in the comments, I’d love to hear it (but no pressure at all!).

About Me

Growing up in rural County Cork, Ireland, I knew from a young age that I wanted to persue a career with animals. I moved to the UK in 2013, and from there my academic career bloomed. On finishing my Masters degree, I became a fully qualified and insured veterinary physiotherapist, being a member of the Register of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners (RAMP), and also an Equine Body Worker (EEBW). I now practice in Essex and the surrounding counties, treating horses and dogs utilising a blend of soft tissue therapy, electrotherapeutic modalities and remedial exercise prescription, aiming to alleviate pain, optimise function and promote healing. I also lecture on an undergradute degree course in Veterinary Physiotherapy, a role I enjoy immensely as it facilitates my perpetual passion for academia.
