Welcome to AbleCare Homes page! We are a fourth generation award winning family run company offering small boutique care homes in your neighbourhood.

Get your updates here on things going on in our six care homes such as entertainment and activities, events, minibus trips and days out, updates on maintenance work and refurbishment and so on! AbleCare Homes is a group of six care homes based across Bristol and South Gloucestershire offering residential care to local people provided by local people. We provide care for older people, people with dementia and individuals who need a period of intensive support prior to moving into more independent living. Excellent meals are cooked by our in-house chefs, activities are stimulating and fun, care is provided by professional Care Assistants. We work to Covid-19 safe practices and have excellent infection control. Long term care, short breaks for family holidays and carer breaks, recuperation stays after illness can all be arranged.

🇩🇪✨ Bavarian Themed Day at Hengrove ✨🇩🇪

Today we celebrated a wonderful Bavarian-themed day packed with creativity, delicious treats, and festive cheer! The morning kicked off with making German-themed hats, which brought plenty of smiles and laughter 🎩😊

Next, the kitchen came alive as residents baked gingerbread biscuits, filling the home with the most amazing festive aromas 🍪✨ A delicious German-inspired lunch followed, giving everyone a true taste of Bavaria.

In the afternoon, Hengrove transformed into a cosy Christmas market 🎄 Residents relaxed while enjoying hot chocolate, homemade fudge, ginger biscuits, and a warming glass of mulled wine 🍫🍷

A joyful day full of smiles, good food, and wonderful memories all round 💙✨

🍺❄️ Bavarian Vibes at Crossley House! ❄️🍺

Sarah truly brought the Bavarian spirit to life this afternoon! Residents enjoyed a lovely, cold, refreshing shandy with their lunch, accompanied by Bavarian music playing in the restaurant. Cheers all round! 🍻🎶

The afternoon continued with a relaxing snowflake-making session ❄️, where residents enjoyed getting creative and crafting their own unique designs. And a special mention to Sandra, who proudly showed off her fantastic fashion sense with a Bavarian hat 🥰

🇩🇪🍰 Bavarian Themed Day at Rosewood House 🍰🇩🇪

Rosewood embraced the Bavarian spirit with a day full of flavour and festive fun! Residents enjoyed baking a delicious orange and rum Christmas cake, filling the home with warm, seasonal aromas 🎄🍊

We also raised a glass to the occasion with non-alcoholic mulled wine made from blackcurrant squash, a splash of apple and cranberry juice, and a slice of orange 🍷✨ To complete the experience, residents even enjoyed a cheeky shot of non-alcoholic rum 🥃😄

A cosy, cheerful day that brought plenty of smiles and festive cheer all round 💙✨

🎄✨ **Christmas Jumper Day at Hengrove!** ✨🎄

Hengrove had a lovely day getting into the festive spirit by wearing our **Christmas jumpers**! 🧣🎅 Everyone looked fantastic and it definitely brought some extra cheer to the home. 💛🎁

At Rosewood House, we are celebrating a very special occasion — Eileen’s 80th birthday! 🎉

Eileen has had a wonderful morning filled with smiles, laughter, and all the joy that comes with being surrounded by loved ones. Her day has been made even more special with a heartfelt visit from her family, who have shared their warmth, love, and wonderful company.
Eileen has truly enjoyed every moment so far, and it’s clear that today has been filled with love, happiness, and beautiful memories.

It was all hands on deck at **Hengrove** as we got creative making Christmas cards 🎨💌
There were glittery designs, festive fun… and yes, **a little bit of mess** along the way 😂✨

But that’s all part of the magic! Lots of smiles, laughter, and beautiful cards made with love 🎅❤️

🎄✨ Christmas Cheer at Rosewood House! ✨🎄

Our residents had an amazing time at the Christmas party! From Naomi’s beautiful carols to the warm company of visiting family members, the home was bursting with joy and festive spirit. ❤️🎶

Everyone sang along, shared lots of laughter, and enjoyed a delicious festive buffet. A truly magical day for all! ✨🥰

🌬️🚶‍♂️ A Busy and Brisk Day at Hengrove! 🎱🍰

So far today at Hengrove, we braved a very windy walk down to the shops, coats zipped and spirits high! 💨
We also launched our **Men’s Club**, where the gentlemen enjoyed a few friendly (and competitive!) games of pool 🎱

Meanwhile, the ladies got stuck into **Baking Club** this morning, sharing laughs, recipes, and delicious smells filling the home 🍰💛
A wonderful mix of fresh air, fun, and fabulous activities already today!

🎄 A Calm and Christmassy Morning at Patron House 🎄

This morning at Patron House was filled with gentle festive moments. Residents enjoyed listening to Christmas songs 🎶, creating a warm and cosy atmosphere.

DT spent time catching up with the newspaper 🗞️, while ES looked through his old photographs, reminiscing about days gone by and smiling as memories came flooding back 😊

Carol from Rosewood House had a truly wonderful morning celebrating her special day! She was overjoyed opening cards and presents from friends and family 🎁💌. Staff and residents joined together to sing “Happy Birthday,” making the moment extra special 🎶❤️.

Carol is now looking forward to keeping the celebrations going at our upcoming Christmas party 🎄✨. What a joyful day! 🎊

✨🕰️ Happy National Time Travel Day! 🕰️✨
To celebrate, I asked some of our residents one big question:
“If you could travel back in time, where would you go?”
We had some truly lovely answers — from childhood memories, to special moments with family, to wishing for just one more day in a favourite place. ❤️
After our little trip down memory lane, we continued our adventures by travelling through Spain via YouTube!
