This Stroke Prevention Day, our stroke team are encouraging you to take one simple step to reduce your risk of having a stroke - regularly monitor your blood pressure.

You can get a free blood pressure check from your local pharmacy if you are aged 40 or over and live in England. You can also get your blood pressure checked at your local GP surgery, or some workplaces.

If you have a high reading, you should visit your GP. You can also help lower it by making some simple lifestyle changes:

🚭Stop smoking or va**ng
🫗Drink less than 14 units of alcohol a week, spread over at least three days
🍏Eat a healthy, balanced diet
🏃‍➡️Take regular exercise – around 20 minutes of moderate movement a day

240 people wake up to the impact of a stroke every day. Look after your wellbeing by checking your blood pressure today.
