EFT or 'Tapping' is an amazing tool for treating PTSD. It helped me overcome my own C-PTSD and has been instrumental in the recovery of my clients. If you haven't heard of it, check it out online or book in for a session to experience it for yourself. Honestly, it's a game changer!

Tapping protocols are rapid compared with traditional treatments. The 2 outcome studies of EFT in the treatment of PTSD in combat veterans led to benefits on standardized self-report instruments that exceeded those generally found in CBT studies in speed, as well as the percentage of veterans no longer meeting the criteria for PTSD.

The 3 head-to-head studies that have been done showed acupoint tapping brought about at least equivalent outcomes in fewer sessions than CBT. 💞

Trauma and the Authentic Self.

Watch this video or read the related blog post linked below to discover your Authentic Self.

The exercise helps to differentiate between who we really are (including who we were before we experienced trauma) and who we present to the world (the part of us wanting to be liked, loved, stay safe etc).

Here is the blog post where I have done the exercise myself too :)

Fight Flight and FREEZE.

We often hear about our fight and flight response to stress and danger. Our heart start pumping, adrenaline races through our body and we spring into action to get ourselves feeling safe again.

But what happens when you can't go into fight or flight? When you are trapped and can't get away?

Have you ever experienced this?

This is the exact point where trauma is formed.

When we go into the freeze response, the memory of that time is never completed in our brain. Therefore on a subconscious level we do not realise the danger is over.

This means we develop PTSD and are triggered by current day events into those terrifying past feelings.

This can make us feel scared and out of control.

Luckily there are many therapies that I am trained in which help to discharge the freeze response and complete the memory.

This is an integral part of healing from trauma and overcoming PTSD and anxiety.

The results are just incredible.

Below is a video of a polar bear naturally discharging this freeze response.

It was traumatised by being chased because it needed to be tagged.

But then when the danger was over it shook heavily for a minute (discharging the freeze response and completing the memory) and returned to feeling safe.

From an evolutionary standpoint, it is not helpful to store events as traumas.

Wild animals do not store these experiences as traumas.

Humans do.

Domesticated animals do.

Zoo animals do.

EFT and Matrix Re-Imprinting are amazing therapies that work directly on the physical, mental, emotional and energy body to release trauma at the root giving you freedom and control over your own life.

We all have experienced problems with setting healthy boundaries and saying no to people.

When we have experienced trauma concepts of boundaries can go out of the window completely especially when our own boundaries have been violated.

Saying no can feel more than challenging, it can feel downright dangerous.

This makes it even more important to learn how to do it. To know that we have value and worth.
