Hi, I’m Cece a pelvic health physiotherapist with a passion for supporting women through every stage of life. After graduating in 2023, I decided to follow my heart and focus on women’s health. An area I truly believe deserves more open conversation, understanding, and care. In this space, I’ll be sharing evidence-based information about pelvic health, postpartum recovery, and everything in between, with a few honest snippets from my own motherhood journey along the way. My goal is to educate, empower, and remind you that you’re not alone in your experiences. Whether you’re navigating pregnancy, postpartum, or simply want to better connect with your body, I’m here to help. I hope you’ll learn something new, feel supported, and maybe even book a session when you’re ready to take that next step in your pelvic health journey.

Some days I forget that I’m still postpartum, that I’m still recovering, adjusting, becoming. I try to do everything, but I’m learning to slow down and take care of me too.

If you need to hear it today: be gentle with yourself. Healing takes time 💜

100% of pregnant women will experience Diastasis recti. It has to happen to give your baby space to grow.

For most women, this naturally improves with time, movement, and the right kind of rehab.

You don’t need to fear the gap, you just need to learn how to reconnect, rebuild, and move with confidence again.

I can teach you how.

Thinking about returning to running after having your baby?

Before you assume you can jump straight back in, here’s what the evidence-based guidelines from Gráinne Donnelly and colleagues (2019) recommend:

✅ The “Ready to Run” checklist
You should be able to comfortably complete each of these without pain, heaviness, leaking, or dragging sensations:

Walk for 30 minutes

Balance on one leg for 10 seconds (each side)

Jog on the spot for 1 minute

Perform 10 single leg squats

Complete 10 single leg calf raises

Perform 10 forward bounds and 10 single-leg hops (each side)

Complete 10 jogs forward (10 m each)

These movements test your core, pelvic floor, strength, balance, and impact control, all essential for a safe return to running.

Most women benefit from waiting at least 12 weeks postpartum, rebuilding gradually, and being assessed by a pelvic health physiotherapist before returning to higher-impact exercise.

If you’re not sure where to start, I can help you assess your readiness and guide your progression safely.

Do C-section mums still need a pelvic floor check?”

Absolutely, yes!

Even though your baby was born via C-section, your pelvic floor was still under pressure throughout pregnancy.

The weight of your growing baby, hormonal changes, and months of postural adaptations all affect those muscles.

Plus, surgery itself impacts your core connection, breathing patterns, and scar mobility, which can influence how your pelvic floor functions.

A pelvic health check helps you rebuild strength safely, improve comfort, and feel confident moving again, no matter how you gave birth.

I’ve been really open about losing my best friend. It came as a massive shock and it happened just after I’d given birth to my second son.

With my hormones already all over the place, adding grief on top nearly took me out. There were days when it felt impossible to breathe, let alone function.

But with time, therapy, and a lot of self-compassion, I’m learning to accept, to carry it differently, and to keep going.

My babies have given me the purpose I needed on those harder days, a reason to get up, smile, and find light again.

So if you’re dealing with grief right now… I see you. I feel you. And I promise, it does get easier 💜

You’re having pelvic floor issues after birth. Maybe leaking, heaviness, or just not feeling “right.”

You finally get in to see your doctor and the advice is… “Try to get more sleep.”
(No s**t Sherlock!)

Of course, sleep is wonderful — but when you’ve just had a baby, that’s easier said than done!

If something doesn’t feel right in your body, you probably don’t need more naps… (as much as it wouldn't hurt)
you may need a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist.

We can assess what’s really going on, guide your recovery safely, and help you feel strong and confident again, from the inside out.

You deserve support, not guesswork.

Send me a message or click the link in my bio to book your postnatal assessment today.

My favourite postpartum exercise?

Breathing!

TVA breathing helps you reconnect with your deep core muscles gently and you can start it early postpartum, even while cuddling your baby or playing on the floor.

Recovery doesn’t begin with crunches.
It begins with a breath.

When I look back at my journey so far, I’m proud of the steps I’ve taken, and continue to take, to become the best pelvic health physiotherapist I can be.

It’s been a mix of formal education, mentorship, hands-on experience, and a genuine passion for helping people regain confidence and comfort in their own bodies. Here are a few of the key things that have shaped my practice:

💡 A Solid Educational Foundation

It all began with my Physiotherapy degree, where I built a strong understanding of human anatomy, movement, and rehabilitation principles. This gave me the foundation I needed to specialise in pelvic health.

👩‍🏫 Learning From a Mentor

Having a mentor in the field has been invaluable. guidance has helped me develop not just technical skills, but also clinical reasoning, empathy, and the confidence to handle sensitive conversations with care.

📚 Ongoing Professional Development

I’ve made a commitment to lifelong learning by completing specialised pelvic health courses. Each one has deepened my understanding of the complexities of pelvic floor function, pain management, and holistic rehabilitation.

✈️ Learning from the Best

One of the most enriching experiences was flying to Ireland to learn directly from experts in pelvic health physiotherapy. Immersing myself in their expertise and passion was truly inspiring and has elevated my clinical practice.

💬 Continuous Growth and Reflection

Being a pelvic health physiotherapist means constantly reflecting, listening, and evolving. It’s a field that demands sensitivity, knowledge, and a genuine desire to make a difference and I’m grateful every day to be part of it.

✨ Every course, every patient, every conversation has added another layer to the practitioner I am today and I can’t wait to see how much more I can grow and contribute to this incredible field.

What are you doing to invest in yourself? Let me know in the comments.
