Today is Carers rights Day https://bit.ly/47joomB Whether you are a new carer or have been caring for someone for a while, it’s important that you understand your rights and are able to access the support that is available to you as soon as you need it. Carers Rights Day helps ensure carers are aware of those rights and let carers know where to get help and support. This year's Carers Rights Day campaign will focus on Know your rights, use your rights. We work closely with lots of carers providing various training such as administration of medication and people handling to name just a few and truly value our time spent with them all and admire them for the challenges they face daily.

Today is Mental Health First Aider Day. When someone becomes a Mental Health First Aider, they don’t just learn new skills. They join a growing network of people making a tangible difference in workplaces and communities. By celebrating the people who show up to support others, we can help make mental health support as visible as physical health. Conversations that start in staffroom ripple outward, breaking stigma and building cultures where talking about mental health is the norm. Our 2 day Mental Health First Aid course is accredited through MHFA England®. As the national authority on mental health first aid, MHFA England provides the gold standard of quality and support. Through the association, you gain access to ongoing learning and a national community of peers – keeping you equipped to play your part long after your training course ends. November is COPD awareness month (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) https://bit.ly/3TfcG4U Millions of people have COPD and don’t even know it. Let’s help raise awareness of COPD and find the missing millions of people and help them get the support they deserve. COPD affects the lungs’ elasticity, which makes it difficult for a patient to exhale properly. It usually develops because of long-term damage to your lungs from breathing in a harmful substance such as cigarette smoke, air pollution, chemical fumes or exposure to asbestos. We can provide bespoke training based on a care plan to family members for someone who has COPD covering basic First Aid or Oxygen Therapy Training and we also provide Face Fit testing which provides employers with written evidence that respiratory protective equipment (RPE) including half mask respirators and disposable face masks ‘fit’ employees to prevent them inhaling poisonous substances. Our Asbestos awareness course is aimed at owners, managers and employees of any businesses that might come into contact with or have a responsibility to manage asbestos during the course of their work.
