Our brand new DJing course was featured on BBC West! 🎧

In February, launched its first 6-week DJing course in collaboration with Sober DJ , hosted at Bristol's first sober bar, . The course welcomed complete beginners learning from scratch and experienced DJs looking to get back into mixing in a safe and supportive environment.

The response was huge, so we're already hoping to run it again!

We'd like to say a massive thank you to for facilitating the course, our amazing volunteers Charlie and Lizzie, for hosting, and for creating a piece about the group.

New release — Surviving Earth: a Bristol-based film with roots in BDP's past

A very special and unique film is coming to national cinemas on April 24th – one that attempts to explain, or at least to bear witness to, the complicated intersections between music, addiction and relationships. It has particular resonance to BDP in that its lead character, Vladimir Gajić, worked here for many years and was part of the music sessions that marked the beginnings of Creative Communities. This BFI/Film 4 funded film is insightful and poignant and well worth a watch.

Showing at The Watershed, Showcase and Odeon.

Pre-screenings + Q & A with writer/director, Thea Gajić, at The Watershed (9/4) and Odeon (10/4).

🔗Head over to the BDP blog to read more about the film and its connection with BDP

🔗The film was also featured in Drink and Drug News magazine, link is on the BDP bio.

This Monday, come and hear them play at the Unitarian Hall. The setlist includes Libertango by Astor Piazzolla, Misirlou (trad), Che Si Può Fare by Barbara Strozzi, and Here It Is, an original piece created by the group themselves. They'll also be joined by special guests from : Emma Welton on violin, Emma White on trombone/sackbut, and Hugh Nankivell on accordion.
