Hi lovely people!

I'm just jumping on here to say my last class of 2025 will be the 7.15pm Slow Flow Class at The Langton Wellness Hub | BS4 Brislington St. Anne's

I wanted to offer this one as a donation-based class, raising some funds for my chosen charity which is Help Bristol's Homeless Charity

The class is free to book on (as I don't want the booking system to take a cut of the donations) but I'll link you to the charity's website where you can make a direct donation there after you've booked onto the class.

This is also a chance to offer people a class where they can pay whatever is affordable at the time. I completely get that things can be financially tight on the leadup to Christmas, so just donate what you can and come and enjoy a last flow together before Christmas :).

If you have any questions, just drop me a message :)

Here's a link to the website for Help Bristol's Homeless:

πŸ–πŸΎHi lovelies, I haven't done one of these 'hi it's me' kind of posts for a few years now, so thought now's a good time.

I'm Lucy, I've been offering Yoga classes in my local area and in and around Bristol for coming up to five years now. I feel incredibly lucky to do what I do and it's been a long old slog to get to become fully self employed. It can be hectic and tiring but I adore it and wouldn't have it any other way!

I have the absolute best crew of regular folk who have been so supportive and committed to coming to classes over the years. Many have now become good friends and I've learned so much from all of you (you all bring me so much joy).

I owe a huge thank you to EveJuniper Yoga from The Langton Wellness Hub | BS4 Brislington St. Anne's for offering me so much help and support when I was starting out. Thank you for reminding me to value my worth and to set boundaries as well as helping to build my confidence in teaching.

My classes aim to create a super inclusive but also fun and challenging practice, weaving in philosophy in a way I feel can be digested by those of us living in a busy Western society. I'm not the most bendy or strongest Yogi by any measure, but I'm super passionate about what I do and I hope that this comes through in my classes.

A little about me...

As well as offering Yoga classes, I offer massage treatments and I'm also a musician 🎻 (violinist) who regularly performs over the weekends at all kinds of events, from festivals, pubs and club nights, to weddings and private events.

I'm obsessed with food (I'm the kind of person who goes to bed excited about having breakfast in the morning).

And very random but I just have to say...I love smelling things...some of my all time favourites include Jasmine flowers, my cat's fur and the classic one...new books.

I think that's enough for now haha.

Something that's really central to my classes is the drive to make as many folk as possible welcome, feel safe and feel included.

This, of course can never apply to every person. No class or offering can be inclusive to absolutely everyone. But we can try our best and also recognise that not everyone will align with your style of teaching.

I've often questioned over the years how best to phrase things and offer a class that will be challenging but also inclusive (as much as can be).

I'm really thankful for all that I learn from those who come to practice and how it continues to help me grow and deepen my understanding.

Big love to all of you absolute legends πŸ’š.

Happy Monday you beauties.

What a gorgeous day for the Autumn Equinox to fall on πŸ‚πŸβ˜€οΈπŸŒž.

As we move into the time of year where we have equal amounts of sunlight and darkness, it got me thinking of how we can embody this idea of balance and equilibrium within our Yoga practice.

I've been speaking about Tapas (the concept of discipline and enthusiasm in Yogic philosophy) in class recently and how for a long time I struggled to grasp how we're meant to adopt this practice, whilst at the same time remaining content (Santosha).

But finding a balance between the two is still possible. Tapas (discipline) is what gives us the motivation and desire to make something happen, to commit and make the first step. Santosha then helps us not to overdo it and do the best we can in the current context...

Tapas ensures we still strive to do our best in the circumstances given...but Santosha helps us remain at peace with the fact that on some days, we may have less energy or less to give... regardless of that, we are still grateful and still have the commitment to carry out practices that better ourselves.

Anyway, big love to all of you

Thanks to everyone who has been coming to the regular classes - you all bring me so much joy!

Hello lovelies πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ˜Šβœ¨

Big love to the lovely Monday crew who joined me for Yoga this week 😁

I just wanted to hop on here as there are a few things I wanted to update you on.

Now that the summer madness has settled, I'm starting to take some massage bookings again. I have recently had a big influx of bookings and so I'll be looking at taking more from the 20th September (most available slots are weekday mornings or afternoons).

Anyway, that's enough waffle from me.

Take care πŸ™πŸ½

Feeling the love ✨❀️

Thank you for some recent words of support from some of the super lovely folk who attend my Yoga classes.

I really do gain for much from all of you too. Though there's a lot of energy offered in class, it really is a mutual exchange of knowledge and skills that happens...as well as holding a safe space for one another.

Thanks for being so great. You absolute bunch of legends πŸ™πŸ½

I've been struggling with a classic case of 'Yoga Butt' recently (also known as proximal hamstring tendinopathy).

It's something that I'm actually very surprised doesn't happen more often (considering how many forward folds are incorporated into Vinyasa flow classes...along with a lack of strengthening of the hamstrings).

Anyway, dealing with any kind of restrictions or injuries can be very humbling...and they allow us to learn and grow.

Here are a few things that I've found:

1 - you can adapt so much of your physical practice and learn a lot about your limitations (svadyaya, self study). At the same time, you can still enjoy a well rounded Asana practice, even with these limitations.

2 - it's allowed more time to focus on Yoga off of the mat. How can I be more mindful in my everyday interactions...and what can I learn from them? One thing that's been so useful is slowing down how and when I react to things. This could be pausing before reacting to something that aggravates me, so that I can act with more compassion, or to set boundaries and recognise when I'm people pleasing (this is always a really tough one).

3 - it helps build patience and discipline (tapas). Recovering from an injury is no linear process and I know it will take time. I've got to try not to compare myself to my past self (and practice santosha, contentment), so that I don't rush back into things before I'm actually ready (though I've definitely already slipped up on this one).

Have you had injuries or limitations that have meant you've had to adapt your Asana practice? How have you found it?
