But! The health benefits of sunglasses are real. UV rays are damaging. Long term exposure to sunlight is as bad for your eyes as it is for your skin. If you want to push back things like cataracts and macular degeneration (these are old people problems, kids, but they're a bitch when they start to affect you) then you should have some sunglasses on whenever you're spending time out in the sun.
