It's official... SIGHT RESEARCH UK TURNS 40 TODAY! š š š
On this very day 40 years ago, our charity was founded by the remarkable Professor David Easty. Over the past four decades, we have grown out of one man's earnest endeavour to save eyesight to become one of the country's leading charities funding eye research. It is his legacy that we honour today.
We may have evolved and transformed over the years - we began life in the Bristol Eye Hospital focusing on corneal transplants, but now we invest millions into any and all eye conditions, whether common or rare, mild or severe.
Despite our growth, our primary purpose has never altered. At our core, we strive to improve the lives of real people who are experiencing sight loss and blindness. That has never changed - and never will.
