💙 A Heartfelt Testimonial 💙

We are truly honoured to share this beautiful and deeply moving testimonial from a family we supported through one of life’s most challenging journeys.

When faced with decisions around care for their father, who was living with Parkinson’s, they trusted us to provide compassionate, personalised support - both for him and for the whole family.

From live-in care to tailored daily visits, our team worked closely with them to ensure dignity, comfort, and independence were always at the heart of his care. Their words reflect everything we strive for: empathy, reliability, and the kind of support that feels like family.

To this family - thank you for allowing us to be part of your dad’s final chapter. Your message means more than you know. 💛

If you or a loved one need support, we're here to help every step of the way.

✨ A Huge Thank You! ✨

On Wednesday, we celebrated 5 years of Live-In Care with our charity fundraising event - and what an incredible day it was! 🎉💙

We’re thrilled to share that we raised £400, and thanks to our amazing parent company, that amount is being doubled to £800 BRACE Dementia Research!! 🙌✨

To everyone who donated, supported, or showed up for us: thank you. Your kindness helps us continue making a real difference in people’s lives. 💛

Here’s to more years of care, compassion, and community! 🌿🤍

❤️ Remembrance Day 2025 ❤️

Today, we pause to remember and honour the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.
Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🌹

At Network Healthcare, this day holds special meaning. Many of our clients lived through World War II — carrying memories, stories, and resilience that continue to inspire us every day. We are deeply honoured to care for a generation that showed such extraordinary strength and compassion in the face of hardship.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. 🕊️

Small changes can make a big difference 💙

People living with dementia may experience the world differently due to damage in the brain. This can lead to changes in perception, including:

Misperceptions – seeing one thing as something else (e.g. mistaking a shadow for a spider)
Misidentifications – confusing people or objects (e.g. thinking a son is their husband)
Hallucinations & Delusions – seeing or believing things that aren’t there
Time-shifting – mixing up past and present.

These experiences can be confusing or distressing for the person and those around them. But with understanding and support, you can help them feel safe and confident.

As explained by our @‌DementiaFriends team, something as simple as swapping a dark coloured mat – which could be mistaken for a hole in the ground – to a light coloured one could be helpful for a person living with dementia.

There are lots of little things you can do to support a person experiencing changes in perception, which might look like:

- Making sure glasses are worn and hearing aids are working (if used)

- Not moving furniture, or changing where things are kept

- Not drawing attention to their mistakes

- Improving lighting levels and reducing visual clutter

- Asking friends and relatives to introduce themselves when they arrive

- Describing the food and drink and where it is on the table

🌸 Wendy’s last day! 🌸

We’re saying goodbye to the lovely Wendy, who’s retiring after 10 amazing years with Network Healthcare. She’s been such a big part of the team - always smiling, always ready to help, and just such a wonderful person to have around.

We’re going to miss her so much, but we’re wishing her all the happiness and relaxation in the world for this next chapter. 💐💛

(Big bunch of flowers for a big heart!)

☕💚 Macmillan Coffee Morning — Thank You! 💚☕

We’re still buzzing from last week’s Coffee Morning and thrilled to share the total… together we raised £235 for Macmillan Cancer Support!

From the first kettle boil to the very last slice of cake, you showed up with generosity, warmth, and that brilliant community spirit we love. Whether you baked, brewed, donated, washed mugs, or simply popped in for a quick cuppa and a chat—thank you. Every pound raised helps Macmillan be there for people living with cancer, offering practical, emotional, and financial support when it’s needed most.

We counted up every coin and online donation to reach £235 - and we couldn’t be prouder of what we achieved together.

This won’t be our last fundraiser - so keep your ideas (and recipes!) coming. Until then, thank you for turning coffee, cake, and conversation into real support for people facing cancer. 💚
