Dear families and friends,

We are delighted to invite you to our Silver Trees Christmas Party on:

📅 20th December
⏰ Starting at 5:00pm
📍 Silver Trees Care Home

Our team has prepared a lovely celebration to enjoy together with residents, families and staff.

🎅✨ The Christmas Party Invite & Menu are attached, please review the menu choices and let us know your selection along with any allergy information when confirming attendance.

💚 Important:
• Relatives who are pensioners do not need to pay for the menu.
• All money raised from menu prices will go directly towards the Activities Fund, supporting future events and activities for our residents.

🌟🤸‍♀️ Afternoon Agility Fun at Silver Trees! 🎉

​What a brilliant afternoon we've had! Our residents showed off their fantastic coordination and concentration playing some fun agility games. From carefully balancing a ball to send it into the right hole, to beanbag tosses, everyone had a good giggle and a great stretch! 💪

​It’s wonderful to see how much enjoyment these activities bring and how everyone cheers each other on! 👏❤️

🎉 A Fabulous Afternoon with Disco Steve! 🎶💃🕺

Today our residents were treated to an amazing visit from the one and only Disco Steve, who filled Silver Trees with music, laughter and plenty of dance moves! 🎤✨

From classic hits to upbeat favourites, games and lots of fun, the atmosphere was full of joy, toes tapping, hands clapping and smiles all around. Our residents absolutely loved it! ❤️

A huge thank you to Disco Steve for bringing such wonderful energy into our home today. We can’t wait to welcome him back again! 🌟

📺 World Television Day at Silver Trees! 🌍

This morning, our residents enjoyed a fascinating BBC documentary, “How the BBC Begun.” It was a wonderful trip down memory lane, discovering how the BBC was founded and seeing just how much it has evolved over the years.

There were plenty of smiles, conversations, and shared memories as we reflected on the programmes that have brought joy, news, and entertainment into our homes throughout the decades.

🌍 Destination: Nigeria! 🇳🇬

​What an exciting journey we had today for our regular country-themed armchair travel day! This time, we packed our bags and mentally jetted off to the vibrant and beautiful nation of Nigeria! 🤩

​Our adventure started with a delicious and authentic taste of Nigeria, expertly prepared by our wonderful chef, Sijo, for lunch. Our residents also got to learn some fascinating facts about the country and even had a peek at the currency notes while enjoying their meal! 🍽️

​The afternoon was filled with discovery. We watched a stunning video showcasing Nigeria’s wonderful landscapes, and then Hannah captivated everyone by reading two famous Nigerian tales. 📖 To finish our trip on a high note, we watched an exhilarating video of traditional Nigerian dances, complete with lively music and colourful costumes! 🎶

​It was a brilliant day of learning, tasting, and exploring a new culture—all from the comfort of Silver Trees! ✨

☕️ Philosophical Fun at Silver Trees! 💡

​What a wonderful and insightful morning we've had at our regular tea and coffee gathering! ☀️

​Today felt extra special as we marked World Philosophy Day. Alongside our lovely cuppas and biscuits, we treated our minds to some big questions about life! 🤔

​We gathered to share a brew and a chat, and it was fascinating to hear our residents' perspectives on deep topics like:
- ​"What does it mean to live a good life?" 🌿
- ​"What does happiness mean to you?" 😊
- ​"Is it okay to lie to protect someone's feelings?" 🤫

​That last question sparked an incredibly interesting debate amongst everyone—the room was buzzing with thoughtful discussion! It's amazing what a little philosophical food for thought can bring to a regular morning. 💖

🍻 Happy International Men's Day!

​Today, we celebrated International Men's Day by treating our wonderful male residents to an afternoon of traditional pub fun!

​The lads gathered for a special session, enjoying:
- ​A refreshing pint of non-alcoholic beer or cider 🍺
- ​Classic pub snacks including crisps, peanuts, and pork scratchings 🥨
- ​The main event: A thrilling afternoon of horse racing! They had a brilliant time placing bets with 'fake' money and cheering on their favourites. The competition was exhilarating! 💰

​This afternoon, our residents proved they are absolutely smarter than a 10-year-old with our special quiz! 😉

​We had a fantastic time testing our knowledge across various school subjects! The competition was fierce as we went through 3 exciting rounds:
​✍️ Pick Your Subject: Getting those basic facts right!
​🚨 Buzzer Round: Fast fingers and even faster brains!
​🤝 Write Your Answer: Working together as a team to figure out the answers!

​From English and Maths to Science, Geography, History, Arts, and even Languages, everyone showed off their impressive knowledge and fantastic teamwork! A huge well done to all our clever contestants!
