Energy Counselling Energy Counselling is about resonance, and trusting our parts and voices so that we can recover. Please contact me for an appointment.

I invite you to counselling in a warm and supportive place, where you can find a way forwards that fits with what you want for yourself. As a British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy accredited counsellor, I offer a safe, confidential, ethical and effective practice. I am a Humanistic, Body-centred, Multi-Cultural Psychotherapist and Counsellor. While I appreciate that can be difficult for many of us to come into counselling. I will make this as easy as possible. In fact, if we are not a good fit, I will help you find another counsellor that suits your needs. Often through attending counselling we want to address issues that cause us pain. This pain or difficulty can take many forms, it could be

- physical pain, like muscle aches
- emotional pain, like depression
- mental pain, like anxiety
- spiritual pain, like a sense of purposelessness and alienation

Counselling works to address all of these levels of awareness. As you listen to yourself and see through the eyes of different parts of yourself, you become able to comfort those parts and develop skills that help you to become free of emotional patterns that keep you repeating the same relationships or the same patterns of behaviour. Counselling is focused on supporting you to become more aware of your own resources in the present moment. We will work together to find what your resources are. Some of these resources are skills you already have and ways of being that you already know. I will teach you some new skills too, which will assist you to remain balanced and relaxed in the face of difficulties. Counselling can help with most issues, some issues I specialise in:
trauma, sexual abuse, in**st, childhool neglect
addiction, co-dependence
bullying at work, exam nerves
grief and loss
cancer and issues related to long term illness (ME and fibromyalgia), chronic pain
anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation
stress, phobias, anxiety, fears, panic attacks
difficulties with goal achievement or confidence
compulsive habits, OCD
Insomnia, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
overwhelming emotions

There’s something powerful about seeing people stand still in the middle of movement.

Holding truth. Holding grief. Holding hope.

These images were taken by Misan Harriman, whose work reminds us that bearing witness isn’t passive — it asks something of us.

That’s what led me to support a family in Gaza through the Gaza Support Network, an initiative started by Israeli people to help families directly.

The self-blame we carry from childhood isn’t the truth of who we are. It’s a survival strategy. As explains, believing we were “bad” was often the only way our younger selves made sense of pain that had no explanation.

But you don’t have to keep carrying that story.

With gentle attention, your system can learn the difference between past fear and present safety. You can soothe those old protective parts and help them understand that they never needed to carry that shame.

This is the work—slow, kind, and deeply freeing. You can change the wiring. Your inner world can become a softer place to live.

Living on high alert isn’t a character flaw. It’s the body doing its best to protect you after what you’ve lived through. As writes so clearly, trauma changes the way our brain responds to the world—so of course, certain cues feel louder, sharper, or more overwhelming.

But this doesn’t have to be the end of the story.

With the right tools, your system can learn to settle, soften, and trust again. You can calm those old responses and build new pathways that feel safer and more spacious inside you.
