Medical simulation involves producing a wide range of trainers for diverse customer groups, making precise internal logistics essential to delivering a consistent customer experience.

Colton, our US Logistics Supervisor & the person behind ensuring productivity of our warehouse operations, visited our HQ in the UK this week to gain insight that will benefit our stateside customers.

"I've had a week packed with shadowing various departments to develop an extensive understanding of the product-to-production flow that happens at our HQ. From witnessing R&D systems to Production timelines, this visit will improve the efficiency of our operations, benefiting our customer experience in the US."

'Lose a bra to save a life' when a woman needs a defibrillator: www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm24jv5j440o

A powerful headline from the BBC highlighting that women are 27% less likely to receive bystander CPR, and that a hesitancy around female anatomy can lead to fatal delays in defibrillator application.

Rightly called-out in the article is the tendency for manikins to have a flat-chested figure, removing people's chance to practice handling breast tissue in these emergency scenarios and increasing hesitancy when it comes to the real thing.

Improving representation in training environments is one small but meaningful step toward addressing this gap.

We’ve created our Female Breast Overlay to allow breast tissue representation to be incorporated into existing manikins: https://limbsandthings.com/global/products/41500-female-breast-overlay-dst

New NHS initiative using simulation to tackle common brain injury causes at birth

The Avoiding Brain Injury in Childbirth (ABC) programme has launched across the UK with over 90 trusts using Limbs & Things’ evidence-backed simulation model, PROMPT Flex, to execute new training requirements.

With up to 10% of c-sections being complicated by impacted fetal head, a scenario with a high risk of perinatal brain injury, the programme utilises simulation training among other tactics to improve outcomes.
