🌍 Today is World Children’s Day, a moment to champion children’s rights, amplify their voices and work towards a fairer future for every young person.

This mission feels especially important as we head into the festive season, which is why we’re proud to once again partner with Lidl for their Toy Bank programme to help ensure children who may be facing a tougher Christmas this year still feel the magic.

Until 15th December, shoppers can donate unopened toys and gifts in-store. These will be collected by Neighbourly charities, food banks and community groups and shared with children in the local community who need them most. Plus, Toy Bank partners can apply for grants from the £125,000 Lidl Community Fund to support essential food provision.

If you’re able to, pop into your local Lidl and help us spread a little joy this Christmas. 💙

As AI becomes increasingly essential for community organisations and local charities, we’re committed to helping our network build the skills and confidence they need to harness its potential.

Our latest Community Survey shows encouraging progress:
📈 30% of organisations are now using AI in some capacity, up from 19% just six months ago.
But many still feel left behind.
📉 45% told us they’re not using AI at all, a decrease from 58%, but still a clear signal that more support is needed.

If you're in that 45%, or just unsure where to begin, we’re here to help.
👉 Join our free webinar next week to learn practical, accessible ways to get started with AI (sign up via the link in the comments below)

🌟 Feel Good Friday 🌟

Last month, as part of our Extra Hour campaign encouraging people to use their hour gained for small acts of kindness, Neighbourly's Katherine Wibberley spent time with children at a local primary school talking about how they could put their time to good use and spread kindness in their community.

The children were super engaged, and loved making cards to share with their loved ones 💙

A big shout out to Katherine for inspiring the next generation of kindness champions!

This Welcome Wednesday, please join us in warmly welcoming two fantastic new partners to the Neighbourly community!

🤝 Mills & Reeve are joining us to share their skills, resources and expertise with local causes — helping to build stronger, more connected communities.

We’re so excited to see the positive impact these collaborations will create.

Our Autumn Community Survey revealed that local causes expect the demand for foodbanks and food provision to rise by 30% over the colder months.

This is a stark reminder of how vital local support networks are in helping communities during this time.

With the help of our partners and community heroes, we hope to make sure everyone has access to good food this winter. 💙

🌟 Feel Good Friday 🌟

Rackets Cubed Community Supermarket is a brilliant organisation providing affordable groceries and wraparound support to families in Roehampton and Battersea.

By joining Neighbourly, they’ve been able to connect with generous business partners whose support is helping them reach even more families in need, and they’ve shared this lovely feedback with us this week.

We love seeing how connections made through Neighbourly help local causes like Rackets Cubed strengthen communities, reduce isolation, and make good food accessible for everyone.

👏 A huge thank you to their amazing team, volunteers and partners for everything you do!

Our latest research: the Autumn 2025 Community Survey, explores the pressures, priorities and outlook for small charities and community organisations across the UK and Ireland as they head into the winter months.

This research was made possible thanks to the input of over 1,300 small charities and good causes connected to Neighbourly - including many of you reading this.

Your feedback has provided invaluable insights into how grassroots organisations are responding to rising need and capacity challenges. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

Key insights:
📈 Rising demand: 79% of organisations report increased demand for their services over the past six months.
🧤 Winter pressures: 90% expect the cost-of-living crisis to significantly impact the people they support this winter.
🤝 Partnership power: 81% find business partnerships useful in sustaining their services.
💻 Digital & AI: Use of AI is growing, but barriers around time, funding and access remain.

These findings highlight the importance of collaboration, between good causes, businesses and local communities, in building stronger, more resilient support for those who need it most.
