"I'm not going to give up, I'm not going to let it defeat me. I'm going to fight it - I'm following that route."
Amanda was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2021. Since then, she’s focused on maintaining a positive mindset to support her mental health, showing incredible strength and hope every day.
"I've always loved sports and being physically active. Running has always been my passion, and that hasn't changed. In fact, Parkinson’s has worked well for me in that area.
"I also attend a PD Warrior class. They're a really good bunch and it's not just the physical benefits of going to this class, it's also the emotional, the laughter we have.
"I don’t really do negativity and prefer to channel my energy into positivity. I will always listen to anyone looking for support, but positivity has to be a choice too."
Mental health plays a key role in managing Parkinson’s. Taking care of emotional well-being can really improve how someone copes and thrives with the condition.
