April is Stress Awareness Month, it’s a great reminder that wellbeing is a vital part of sustainable success. When you manage stress effectively, you perform, create and lead from a place of clarity and calm.
I work with many CEO’s and business teams, and overall they come to me because they are close to burnout, overwhelmed and lacking in clarity of where to go next. Over the years there has been a common thread about stress and productivity, and today I wanted to share a few tips to help you. It would be helpful to take a little time in a cafe and work through some of the points to enhance your wellness at work and in life.
Understanding Stress – and Why It Matters
Stress isn’t always negative. As Dr Hans Selye described back in 1956, it can be both beneficial and detrimental, depending on how we respond to it. Good stress can motivate us and sharpen focus, while chronic stress depletes our energy and creativity.
The key is to recognise your signs of overload early and have strategies in place to manage them – both personally and professionally.
Practical Ways to Manage Stress Strategically
If you lead a team or run your own business, stress can easily creep in unnoticed until it hits breaking point. Below are some simple, effective tools to help optimise your wellbeing and productivity:
Set clear priorities – Plan your top three goals each day to stay focused and reduce overwhelm.
Delegate wisely – You don’t have to do everything yourself. Let go of tasks that drain your energy.
Build recovery time – Schedule regular breaks, walks, or “no-meeting” time to reset your mind.
Check in weekly – Give yourself a wellbeing score out of 10. If you’re below 5, pause and reset.
Ask for help – Support is a strength. Whether it’s mentoring, coaching, or therapy, reach out early.
Move and breathe – Fresh air, stretching, and deep exhalations are simple yet powerful resets.
Keep perspective – Write three things you’re grateful for each day to train your mind towards balance.
Building Resilience and Calm at Work
When we take a strategic approach to stress – rather than reacting to it – we build long term resilience. This helps employees, entrepreneurs and leaders alike stay engaged, creative and connected.
A supportive workplace culture that values mental health, clear communication and rest creates stronger, happier teams – and that’s where performance thrives.
How I Can Help
I’ve worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs, CEOs and business teams to help them reduce burnout, improve focus, and enhance performance. Through my Success & Mentoring Programmes, we focus on clarity, mindset and energy management – so you can achieve more with less stress.

Small Reminder
It’s okay to pause.
It’s okay to rest.
And it’s absolutely okay to ask for help.
So use this week as a prompt to check in, breathe deeply and refocus on what matters – our wellbeing.
With big restful support, Kim
