Trying to think and logic your way out of OCD is about as helpful as using a calculator to check your spelling š«
The calculator isnāt broken. Itās brilliant at what it does. But spelling isnāt a maths problem, so no matter how hard you try, it cannot give you what you need.
Thatās exactly whatās happening when you try to think your way out of OCD.
Your brain isnāt broken. Your reasoning skills arenāt the problem. But OCD is not a logic problem. And treating it like one is keeping you stuck.
Because every time you turn the thought over, weigh up the evidence, try to find the answers you teach your brain that the question is worth solving.
So it keeps asking. A little louder. A little more urgently.
