Wendy James Hypnotherapy 'If you can change your mind, you can change your life'.. Start now by calling for a free, no obligation chat to find out more

Having had personal experience of chronic anxiety in my younger years, I can understand and identify with the debilitating effect it can have on everyday life. My first experience of hypnotherapy was at a particularly difficult time in my life. A friend recommended that I consider having hypnotherapy given the success that they had found from this approach. It was after my own success from hypnotherapy that I decided to explore the possibility of training as a hypnotherapist. I am really pleased that I did as it has not only been life changing for me but for many of my clients that have benefitted from accessing hypnotherapy. It's so rewarding to see people change their lives for the better. I am a natural communicator, my passion is people. I follow the values and principles of my peers and that is to teach people about their own ability to change, to move towards their goals and desires and to live the life they prefer. I am very pleased to return to working face to face with my clients and continue to work very successfully on line via Zoom, which means that there are no geographical limitations. Call me for a free, no obligation chat to find out how I can help.

F.L.Y. ~ First Love Yourself ~ Self Worth

Self-worth isn’t something we earn through achievements, appearance, or status, it’s something we align with when we quiet the noise of self-criticism, self doubt etc.

Our worth isn't determined by external factors, e.g., how we look, the job we do or the material possessions we own. The true meaning of self worth comes from self awareness, self acceptance and self belief.

When we focus on our perceived mistakes or shortcomings, we lose sight of our worth and value although neither disappear, they become harder to locate as they're hidden beneath the layers of self-judgement, comparison, frustration etc.

Self-worth means accepting ourselves as we are and for who we are, not because we're flawless but because we're human. Our worth shouldn't be measured by the house we live in, the job we do or other people’s opinions, what really matters is what we believe about ourselves, our worth and our value and the great news is that the gift of self worth and self belief are accessible to every single one of us every single day!

If you can relate to the above and are interested in finding out more , look out for details introducing my free F.L.Y. (First Love Yourself) mini programme dates coming soon where I will be sharing guidance and tools to uproot unhelpful entrenched beliefs and replace them with resilience, self-compassion, self-worth and much more!

Do you ever hear that annoying voice in your head whispering “I always mess things up" "I'm such an idiot" "I’m not good enough” “smart enough”“I can’t do it" “blah blah 😒

If this sounds familiar, it's helpful to remember that those unwanted, outdated thoughts are usually limiting beliefs shaped by social conditioning and other people’s opinions which means that YOU have the power to 'change the channel'!

Your mind tunes in to all your thoughts and words and assumes they’re true so, when you speak of doubt or disappointment it will typically gather evidence to support that and, likewise when you speak words of possibility and progress, it will gather the evidence too so the words you speak really do shape your reality.

The good news is that you don't have to believe everything you think so next time the negative voice rattles on about what could go wrong 'Question it. Challenge it. Change it'💪

How many of us get stuck in a rut, wanting or needing change, starting out with a positive mindset and best intentions but can’t maintain it long enough to enjoy the benefits.

You’ll know that if you want to get the best out of life you have to put the leg work in to bring about change, to evolve, grow and release unhelpful, rooted in habits from your past that may be holding you back.

Staying the same but wanting something different or better is like standing still and hoping the view will change. It might keep you ‘safe’ but if also keeps you stuck.

Nothing changes until you do so, if life feels more like a challenge than a joy, it’s time to pause, reflect and place a focus on purpose, progress and profit🚀

Making positive changes in your life, doesn’t have to be big but it does have to begin👍

If you’re reading this and can relate to any or all of it, my F.L.Y. (First Love Yourself) free mini programme will help and support you to break free from whatever’s holding you back, enabling you to step positively in to the life you desire and the life you deserve.

I’ll be sharing joining details soon so if you’re keen to explore this opportunity put a 🙌 in the comments or contact me via messenger or WhatsApp to register your interest 👍

Do you take a walk in nature in your spare time? Is it something you'd like to do but 'haven't got the time'?

I'm a big fan of walking in among the trees and, apart from enjoying precious time away from the rush of life, here's just a few proven reasons why I'm recommending it to you:

A proven reduction in stress and anxiety
releases endorphins and serotonin, both boosting mood
supports your cardiovascular health,
strengthens your immune system
reduces stress, frustration, irritability
offers space and invites peace in to your day
walking with family, friends strengthens social connection
being exposed to natural light regulates your circadian rhythm (sleep/wake cycle) so improves sleep

For a bit of fun, I've hidden four accompaniments to walking in among the trees, see if you can find them. I hope it tempts you to get your boots on and get walking!

Best wishes for a relaxing weekend, Wendy

We all need support sometimes and expressing your feelings IS NOT a sign of weakness, it’s a strength that we all possess and one that has countless benefits to our mental health and wellbeing.

Many of us find it so difficult to talk about our mental health for various reasons but not wanting to be a burden or to appear ‘weak’ or ‘vulnerable’ are common causes.

Some of us might not realise that bottling up our emotions can lead to anxiety, stress and/or depression.

I often use the metaphor of holding on to anxieties, worries and stress being very similar to lugging around an invisible backpack that weighs heavy on our shoulders. We can’t see it, but we can feel the weight of the unspoken words, thoughts, feelings, fears and worries so talking about our feelings really can lighten our load!

Procrastination, self criticism, guilt, anger, anxiety, low mood are all side effects of unresolved ‘issues’ that contribute to the emotional weight we lug around.

If were not sharing it we’re storing it and that stuff can get heavy; causing many of us to
find resolve or comfort in food, sweet treats, alcohol, ci******es or escaping in to binge watching on Netflix.

Sometimes, a fresh perspective can help us see things in a new light and offer solutions we may not have considered. Embracing vulnerability can also lead to personal growth and resilience.

Opening up isn’t a sign of weakness, in fact it’s a strength and a failsafe way of offloading the contents of the ‘backpack. By talking about how we feel we will likely find that our family or friends will be able to relate to how we’re feeling too.

Let’s break the stigma around mental health and remember that our feelings matter so reach out, talk to someone and let them in. No one should go through struggles with mental health alone.

If you know of a friend, relative or colleague that doesn’t seem themselves, offer a supportive word or a kind hand, you never know how much those small gestures could change someone’s day for the better.

If you’ve found this post helpful, share it to your page as you never know who might need to hear this today.

We all experience stress and anxiety at some point in our lives and, over the past decade there’s been a significant increase in poor mental health due to external pressures and demands that trigger emotional/physical stress.

Many times, acute stress and anxiety can be remedied by addressing the situation that’s causing it but if there’s no resolution to be found e.g., social and economic issues such as loneliness or financial hardship can exacerbate our emotional and physical health and, if not addressed or resolved, can spill out into everyday life and potentially impact our physical and emotional wellbeing and, in some cases, those around us.

After a long day at work or a stressful day, it’s easy to find comfort in a few pints of beer, a bottle of wine, ci******es or ‘recreational drugs’ to relax, lift the mood or provide a sense of relief and comfort but with regular or overuse can cause significant long term health issues and exacerbate physical and mental health.

Stress and anxiety is a response to external pressures or demands that can be either short or long term, both triggering mental health conditions such as worry, fear, anger, procrastination, poor decision making and social withdrawal. These are all common features of unresolved stress and can affect any age group from young children to the elderly.

School, college, work and home environments can trigger the stress response as can financial constraints, interpersonal relationships and a poor support network in many different situations and environments.

Prolonged anxiety and stress can be draining and can lead to depression, panic disorders and many other mental health conditions.

In the current climate, finding support can mean joining a long waiting list, asking Dr Google for support or you can download my free eBook “How To Relieve Anxiety During Stressful Times” that provides information, advice and many helpful tips to reduce stress and anxiety.

Does anxiety regularly dominate your life? If so, read on⤵️

Anxiety and fear have a way of amplifying the noise in our head, making even the smallest worries feel overwhelming. It’s as if the volume’s been turned all the way up and no matter how hard we try to quiet the noise, it continues to roll out the worries, fears
And ‘what if’s’ that drive out logic and reason, leaving us feeling restless, exhausted and desperate for relief.

Finding ways to manage the internal chatter by reducing the volume can be a game changer, by replacing the chaos with calm.

If this post resonates with you or you know someone who would benefit from some free guidance and support, look out for my next post on here where I’ll be adding the link to download my ebook,‘The Road Map out of Anxiety’ or you can follow the link to my website below for access to the eBook.

How Neuroplasticity works as an empowering tool for personal transformation 🙂

Our brain is adaptable like plastic. Every time we think a certain way, follow an instruction practice a new task, we strengthen the neural pathway involved and, with repetition, a new habit is established .

If we decide that we want to think or act in a new, more positive way we start to carve out a new pathway. The more we repeat the new behaviour or thought, the pathway strengthens and embeds itself as a healthy habit while the lack of activity ref the old habit/pathway weakens.

In my hypnotherapy sessions, during hypnosis, I use a unique and effective approach that 'rewires' the brain's plasticity to reprogramme old patterns, beliefs and emotions and replace them with the clients desired outcome.

It's an interesting and informative watch so take a look..
