What a fantastic and busy week it’s been at the Community Reds!
The delivery of our brand-new, branded Community Reds minibus is a huge milestone and will make a real difference to our work across the local and wider community. It opens up even more opportunities for everyone — both on and off the field.
Today, our Community Reds Walking Football Women’s squads are in tournament action. Best of luck to everyone taking part! ⚽
And speaking of Walking Football, plans for the first-ever World Masters Walking Football Cup — to be staged at the Renewable Centre Stadium this August — are gathering real momentum. Teams from around the world will be joining us for what promises to be a prestigious and exciting event. Alongside showcasing the sport, we’ll also be demonstrating the fantastic hospitality and warm welcome from the hillside. As you can imagine, our Community Reds volunteers are putting in a huge amount of work to ensure the event is a success.
Our plans to establish the Community Reds as an independent CIO are now reaching their final stages. This is a hugely important step for the organisation and its future business model. As an independent charity partner of Briton Ferry Llansawel AFC, the Community Reds will help deliver several key areas of the five-year development plan. Achieving charity status will also allow us to continue building strong links with community groups and partners — to Create, Enable and Empower Change, ensuring nobody is left sitting on the bench.
Talking of sitting on the bench — why not join us this Sunday afternoon for some live football action? Briton Ferry Llansawel Ladies take on local rivals Swansea City Ladies at the Renewable Centre Stadium, with a 5.10pm kick-off. Our Community Reds matchday volunteers will be on hand to welcome you — and hopefully make some noise!
Finally, the club is advertising for a Commercial Manager to join Briton Ferry Llansawel AFC. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an exciting future, as the club establishes itself as a major force in the new-look Cymru Premier
