The family of the late Kirsty Mackenzie would like to thank everyone that attended the funeral and supported them in many different ways especially the Lighthouse centre for the use of this fantastic venue and also for the support shown by Rev. Roddie Rankine .
The collection at the funeral amounted to £520 which the family are donating to I C U department in Raigmore for toys for children .

It’s the start of another month which means it’s time for our monthly donation to Mikey’s Line
The donation for February is £150 which I have now sent . We are able to support this wonderful charity only because of the support we have from you for which we are truly grateful.

Our Seagrass coffins have been very popular in the last 2 weeks 5 families have chosen them, 3 were cremated and 2 were used for burial.

It will be 20 years since I first started as a funeral director on Harris and what a journey it has been . There have been many ups and downs and many funerals that have tugged hard on the heart strings but I would not change any of it .
I don’t believe this profession is a job , it is a calling and you can’t treat it as a job , if you do then you’re in the wrong business . Since moving to Skye it has been a steep learning curve and every day is a school day we are always learning . I am so grateful to everyone that has helped me along the way and I look forward to helping families for many more years if I am blessed enough to do so . Thank you to every family that has put their trust in me and my team .

Our brand new Mercedes hearse was delivered today so once again we are able to offer silver or black new model Mercedes hearses . The black one has a glass roof , the first one made of the new model .

Today we made our first of this years monthly donations to Mikeysline of £125. We will be making donations for every traditional funeral we carry out every month for the year

Today Donald MacKaskill (Dhollan) from An Acarsaid Broadford took his final journey home on one of his beloved Cal Mac ferries the Hebrides
Many thanks to Captain Clark for lowering the flag to half mast as a mark of respect to 103 year old Dhollan .
