STOP Fault Finding

If You're Always Looking For Faults in Others, You Will Find It.

Are you a boss or manager who always looks for what's going wrong and easily criticises your staff?

Are you someone who easily finds faults in your partner or potential partner?

Are you a friend who likes to quickly point out the flaws in your friends?

Are you a parent who only sees your child negatively?

If you answered yes to any of the above, YOU have a major problem my friend,- excuse the pun. Constructive feedback is helpful, but constant fault finding is a n0.1 demotivator and can cause serious setbacks in your life.

STOP, Think and Reflect, ask yourself, am I being balanced in my opinions, unfair, overly critical or inpatient. Without deep self reflection, you may not always see the bigger picture or give a balanced view of what is also good about that person.

Try a different approach, by actively seeking for what is good in the other person. Resist the urge to find faults. Instead, you want to inspire, uplift, help, motivate and restore. That way, you will create better relationships whether personal or professional and you will also be a happier person.

Practice Self Compassion

Cultivating compassion, both for ourselves and others, is essential for mental well-being. Being too hard on yourself and others never helps, but causes stress and criticism.

By acknowledging our own struggles and extending empathy to those around us, we create a supportive environment where everyone feels seen and valued.

For instance, we practice self-compassion by speaking to ourselves kindly during moments of self-doubt or difficulty. Also, acknowledge when others are also struggling and give some encouragement.

Be Authentic

At the core of mental health is authenticity or being genuine.
When we honour our true selves, we create space for genuine connections and meaningful experiences.

Instead of hiding our emotions to fit in with others, we should express our thoughts and feelings authentically, as a real expression of ourselves. Not forgetting to express with kindness and understanding.

This helps to foster deeper connections with those around us and build better, healthier relationships.

May - Mental Health Awareness Week

In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it's easy to overlook our mental well-being. However, prioritizing mental health isn't just about self-care; it's about recognising and honouring our personal values and living authentically.

Let's explore how embracing mental health aligns with our deepest values and contributes to a more fulfilling life. Without a healthy mindset life can go in a bad direction, leading to all sorts of issues and problems.

This week I will post something each day that helps you to remember to include a sense of personal value in your mental health. This includes seeing yourself as a valuable and important human being.

If you don't see value in yourself then problems will quickly surface and life will become miserable. I don't want that to happen to you, so look out for my quick tips of personal value each day this week.

Start The Way You Mean To Go On

I am amazed that January has now come to an end, how time flies. But don't start to worry, instead make a decision to be more solutions focussed rather than fault finding.

When you look to resolve issues and problems, it will surprise you as you will find so many different ways to solve your problems.

Don't hide or run away from issues, but face them and know that you have the ability to cope.

Don't be afraid to reach out to get advice and help, as no one is an island. We all need that helping hand sometimes.

When you look for solutions, they can suddenly appear. Your mind will see opportunities and your confidence will grow.

If 2023 was all about seeing faults, problems and issues, then make 2024 about finding solutions, remedies and possibilities.

Wishing You a Happy New Year

Time for REFLECTION.

We are already have way through January 2024, but what does the start of a new year really mean to you?

As you know, I talk a lot about taking care of your mental health and wellbeing, as it should be a TOP PRIORITY.

Here are my tips for mental wellbeing in 2024.

1. Make a firm decision to make a positive change, starting now.

2. Let go of past hurts, pains, disappointments, let downs, regrets, mistakes, self blame, sabotage, beating yourself up etc. By holding onto to this just causes you more pain.

3. A new year means a new start. Everyday is a new opportunity, take hold of it and let it become something good.

4. Decide to be courageous and bold. First, take care and prioritise your mental state. Its time to rethink a new perspective, bring healing to your mind, to refresh your thinking and renewed energy.

5. Plan the year ahead and set a clear goal, for e.g. to reduce anxiety, depression, to build confidence etc. These are all achievable.

6. Go out daily and enjoy nature, it was created for you and give thanks to the creator Father God.

7. Find a reason to SMILE everyday, show gratitude, appreciation and learn to be giving to others.

In my personal reflection I hope to help positively change one life at a time and bring renewed mental wellbeing.

Because Change Is Possible.

Have a great day and month ahead. 😊

National Stress Awareness Day

This day serves as a valuable reminder of the importance of being aware of stress and its impact on our mental and physical well-being.

Stress is a natural response to various life challenges and demands, but when it becomes chronic and unmanaged, it can indeed lead to severe health issues, including burnout.

1. Mental and Physical Health:
Prolonged or intense stress can take a toll on your mental and physical health, leading to anxiety and depression. It can also affect your physical health, contributing to various illnesses and/or exacerbating pre-existing conditions.

Have YOU Done Your Best TODAY?

It can be very easy to let the day just run away with itself, with all the various activities that need to be done.

But when you stop and look at what you have achieved, you may be surprised to realise that you haven't really done that much.

This can lead to frustration and disappointment because you really wanted to make your day count. I've been caught in this trap many times, so I decided to add this small but powerful statement and thought to my everyday.

It is up to me to decide how best to organise, plan, utilise and enjoy my day that has been given to me, which is TODAY.

So, to make my day feel great, I now ask myself everyday, 'Have YOU done your BEST today?'

Interestingly, when I keep this statement in my thoughts throughout the day, I notice that I am more focussed, less distracted, am enjoying what I am doing and I am working on my plans a lot better.

So why is this statement so powerful?

I believe it comes down to a simple truth and principle, that what you put into your mind creates outcomes.

By asking yourself 'Have you done your best today' holds you accountable to being honest with yourself and to make steps to improve your mindset, personal growth and what you are trying to achieve.

Try it out, you will be surprised at the results. This statement will help to sharpen your focus and determination, it will improve your efforts and give renewed energy into what you are hoping to achieve.

Give yourself at least 10 days everyday by saying this statement, then let me know how things have worked for you.

If you are not sure where to start, don't beat yourself up, just choose one thing on your to do list and go for it.

Summer Weather Tells You to Prepare

No doubt everyone loves the summer sunshine, the long days and warmth of the sun.

Summer makes you feel great, energised and wanting to enjoy life.

But whilst in the summer prepare for autumn and winter. Not just physically but mentally.

Many people get to autumn and winter months as if by surprise that it was going to arrive.

Suddenly the long days and warm sun has gone and now its getting darker and colder.

Winter is not just a season but a state of mind if you allow it. It doesn't have to be negative.

Learn to bring summer into your autumn and winter months. See things from a different perspective.

1. Change is always inevitable so don't fight it, work with change and decide on at least two positive changes you can make to your life, starting today. Write a plan to make it happen.

2. Change means new, to develop, to rethink. For e.g be solution focused and not pessimistic. Strive to improve your mind and mental wellness.

3. Include new habits like reading inspiring books, learning a new skill, giving someone a compliment, sleeping well, eating and exercising better.

These are small changes but have mighty impact. So bring your summer into the autumn and winter months and you will soon notice a difference.

Because Change is Possible.
