A diagnosis of dementia is life changing, and having the right support early on can make a real difference. The Age UK Bromley & Greenwich , Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and Mind Dementia Support Hub provides support for people living with dementia in Bromley and for their carers. They offer clear information, practical advice and help with finding services that are right for each individual situation.

Their support includes help with accessing local services, planning for the future, carer support and guidance, befriending services, and specialist support for people with young onset dementia and their families.

They also run the Memory Lane Café, a weekly Friday session offering tea, cake, companionship and activities in a relaxed setting.

The Dementia Support Hub is a valuable local resource, and we’re pleased to help signpost families to services that can support them at every stage of the dementia journey.

First point of call for Bromley residents diagnosed with dementia and their carers to access local dementia support they need to live as well as possible.

Winter can be a difficult time for people living with dementia and for those who support them. The Alzheimer's Society has published a practical article, “7 ways to support a person with dementia in cold weather”, sharing simple steps that can help keep someone safe, warm and comfortable during the colder months. It covers everything from clothing and heating to routines, activity and staying safe outdoors.
