Another edition of GUESS THE DIAGNOSIS Parents?? 👀
(Youth edition)
I see this all the time in sporty kids (especially ages 10–14).
Your child who says:
“Back of my heel hurts after running/jumping… I need to come off in the football match…
…and it’s sore when you gently squeeze the heel (but there’s no redness/swelling) — what are you thinking?
Most parents get told it’s “just growing pains”… but there’s usually a clear reason, and a clear plan.
What helps most:
🔸reduce the high-impact stuff briefly (not total rest)
🔸support/cushion the heel
🔸build calf + foot strength back up gradually
SAVE this so you’ve got it when it flares up.
SHARE it with a parent at your club who needs it.

Want exercises your child can start with?
Comment “REHAB” and I’ll make a video walking you through them step-by-step.
Diagnosis: Sever’s disease
(heel growth plate irritation).
