Hugo Technology was established with two main aims. Firstly, to exceed the maintenance expectations of their customers and secondly, to pay their mortgages and look after their families! Since then, as you'd expect from a world-class company, everything has grown. Our customer base has grown, Andrew and Warwick's families have grown (we haven't asked about the mortgages) and the Hugo Technology family has grown to more than 60 employees. However, the biggest growth seen has been the demands we put on ourselves to continually improve our services, and their quality, to meet the ever changing needs of our expanding customer base. Why we do it! It's simple really. Andrew and Warwick trained and worked within the NHS for years, until a restructure meant a change of direction was urgently needed. As you'll know, the challenges and rewards of the healthcare industry are quite unique, and they didn't want to throw in the towel just yet. Working mainly with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), our dedication to the highest quality standards has helped us become the trusted and approved partner for some of the world's leading biomedical manufacturers. All of us at Hugo understand the need to maintain, at an exceptional standard, the devices that save and improve the quality of all our lives. We do it because we care and because we know no one does it better.

The colour red took over Hugo Technology last Friday in aid of raising money for Comic Relief. To make the most of the day we hosted a raffle and had a generous cake sale, as a result of this in total we managed to raise £187.05 for a fantastic cause. We have expanded our operational space by occupying a building located next to our existing Hugo 2 facility, providing a perfect location for moving between premises. This expansion has increased our office and meeting room space, which we are aiming to use once lockdown restrictions are lifted and we can welcome customers back to our facilities. We are also now in the process of implementing branding… more on this to come.

Its National Apprentice Week ! So we wanted to show some appreciation to our apprentices who are conducting fantastic work at Hugo Technology. Having started our apprenticeship scheme in 2018 our aim was/ still is to bring young talent into the industry to .

On this day in 2001, Hugo Technology was founded by Andrew Parton and Warwick Oakey where they aimed to provide an unrivalled service with integrity that loved ones rely on. Since then, Hugo has amassed nearly 100 employee’s and a range of contracts with leading medical device manufacturers across the world. Throughout the years we have formed incredible relationships and built a dedicated hardworking team that have played a key factor in reaching this milestone, which we wish to continue for many years to come. This is a special year for Hugo as 2021 signifies 20 years since our journey began, since our inception in 2001 our mission was, and still is, to provide an exceptional service with integrity that loved ones rely on. Therefore, throughout the year we will be providing content relating to our growth and the fantastic relationships formed with our customers over the past 20 years.

Looking to the future we are hoping for 2021 to be a bright and exciting new chapter, where we continue to go above and beyond to support our customers!

Approaching Christmas time, we would like to reflect on what a challenging year this has been, to rightly show - acknowledgment and appreciation to everyone who is/has been involved in supporting the NHS and the wider UK population, often going above and beyond to provide critical care throughout 2020. We all, should be very proud to not only support the NHS (and our loved ones), but to have our dedicated field engineers, and logistics team working directly in the acute NHS trusts across the UK as part of the front-line team.. We should also, applaud the fine back office functions at Hugo 1 and 2 all of whom, have supported the wider NHS and UK population throughout the year tirelessly.

We would like to express a special thank you to our customers, suppliers and employees who have shown relentless and tireless commitment to accommodate the increase in demands on the UK healthcare system.

Pictured below you can see a fraction of our fantastic team who have been working solidly this year to support the increase of pressure on the healthcare system. Since the beginning of 2020, Hugo has attempted to be flexible and innovative with our solutions to provide support in any way we can, which has meant that our team has had to do the same. We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to our team for their dedication through this difficult period and for going above and beyond to conduct a vital role in patient care! We hope that everyone remains safe and well and hope in 2021 we will return to some normality.

In light of current times, our customer’s are utilising our Hugo 4 facility, allowing them to follow government guidelines by providing socially distanced training. Through using this separate facility the team is in an isolated bubble and can conduct training safely over the next few weeks. We are pleased to announce we passed our annual BSI audit, meaning we retain our ISO13485 – Medical Device Quality Management Certification. This year’s audit had a virtual twist, reducing unnecessary travel and human contact over the two days. The new style of audit was supported by our conferencing system in the boardroom, which provided a professional environment for the audit to take place. Below is a statement from our Systems & Compliance Manager – Neil Howard, who with the support of Emma, conducted this year’s audit and highlighted our exceptional standards.
