I used to eat cooking chocolate if there was nothing else 😱

Honestly my sugar cravings used to be off the scale. I had to have something every day (usually around 3/4pm)

Now I don’t have them at all. I still eat sugar don’t get me wrong but I’m not controlled by cravings.

Curbing sugar cravings is what I get asked about the most so here are my tips šŸ‘ŒšŸ»

1ļøāƒ£ Eat protein at every meal

Protein keeps you fuller for longer and helps stabilise your blood sugar, so you’re not reaching for quick‑fix sweets later.

2ļøāƒ£ Eat 3 balanced meals

Regular, well‑rounded meals stop the energy dips that trigger cravings. Think protein, fibre & healthy fats.

3ļøāƒ£ Don’t ban sugar šŸ’Æ

Restriction fuels cravings. Allowing treats mindfully takes away the ā€œall or nothingā€ cycle and helps you stay in control.

You start full of good intentions, buckets of motivation and a strong feeling that this will be the time it works šŸ¤žšŸ»

You go all in - cutting out everything nice, going to the gym 3 times per week and following the plan to the letter šŸ’ŖšŸ»

You start seeing progress then…

It stalls, it’s not happening quick enough or something happens that gets in the way of your new routine 🄓

Old habits creep back in and before you know it you’re back to your old ways 😱

Sound familiar? You’re not lazy you’re not lacking commitment or motivation

It’s your subconscious stepping in to protect you from change, discomfort or perceived failure

It’s your subconscious protecting you even though it feels more like sabotage 😬

Here’s my Top 3 Tips to help get your subconscious to work FOR you rather than against you šŸ‘šŸ»

1. celebrate small wins - even though they might not feel like a big deal, small wins are progress and by acknowledging them and celebrating them you increase your confidence in your ability to do this

2. Really know WHY you want to make these changes - what will the benefits be to your life when you achieve your goal

3. Take a pause before reacting - you feel the urge to open that bottle of wine because you’ve had a crappy day at work - take a pause, take a breath, count to 10 - giving you a gap between the trigger (being stressed) and the habit
