“Sometimes it can be hard for people to talk about things, and the art materials provide an alternative way to externalise complex issues.”

Meet Rachel, one of our volunteer art psychotherapists, who visits St Michael’s Hospice each week to support patients through creativity, compassion and care. Art therapy can offer a gentle way to explore thoughts and feelings when words feel difficult, creating space for expression, reflection and connection.

💬 Have you ever found creativity helped you express something you couldn’t put into words?

It’s Heart Month, and we’re focusing on what truly keeps hearts beating: the AED.

The biggest hurdle? Hesitation. We often hear from people that they are simply worried about doing something wrong.

The truth is, an AED is designed for everyone. It talks to you, guides you, and only shocks if necessary. It’s practically foolproof, but having one on the wall is only half the battle.

Confidence bridges the gap between having the kit and saving a life.

At Promet, our training replaces fear with capability. Whether you’re a local business owner or a manager, ensuring your team feels prepared is the best investment you’ll make this month.

Let’s make a safer place to work, together.

We count accident-free days on the wall, but what about the hazards no one notices?

A truly safe workplace looks after the person, not just the injury. Whether it’s a physical accident or a mental health crisis, your team needs to know they are supported.

Integrating mental health into your first aid strategy isn’t just a "nice to have": it’s essential for a resilient team. At Promet, we believe comprehensive wellbeing means being prepared for both.

We offer accredited training across the UK, covering everything from First Aid at Work to Adult Mental Health First Aid. Our courses are designed to give your staff the confidence to act, whatever the situation.

Ensure your workplace is truly covered.

This is exactly what The Circuit did for defibrillators, but for bleed kits.

BleedMap helps people quickly locate publicly accessible bleed control kits in an emergency, when severe bleeding needs immediate action. A simple idea with a potentially life-saving impact. We really hope organisations and communities start registering their kits.

Think you might “do it wrong” with a defib?

Let’s bust the biggest myth: you can’t shock someone who doesn’t need it.
Modern AEDs analyse the heart rhythm and will ONLY allow a shock if it’s needed. If it’s not a shockable rhythm, it simply won’t deliver one.

Common fears we hear in workplaces and community groups:
• “I’ll make it worse”
• “I need to be medically trained”
• “What if I get it wrong?”

In a cardiac arrest, doing something fast is what matters. The AED talks you through it step by step.

Don’t be afraid of the defib.

First aid training isn’t just a compliance tick-box : it’s a smart business decision.

When people know what to do, you get calmer responses, faster action, and fewer small incidents turning into big ones.

Why it pays off:
• More confidence on site (and less panic)
• Better safety culture + supports H&S compliance
• Reduced downtime and disruption when something goes wrong

Have you registered your defibrillator on The Circuit?

The Circuit is the UK’s national defibrillator network, linking AED locations directly to NHS ambulance services. Registering your defib means it can be found quickly in an emergency — when every second counts.

If you own or manage a defibrillator, make sure it’s registered, visible, and ready to be used.

Because a defibrillator can’t save a life if no one knows it’s there.

Apparently today in the US it’s National Nothing Day 🇺🇸
Sounds great… unless you’re dealing with a first aid emergency.

In first aid, doing nothing is usually the worst option.
Knowing when and how to act can save a life.
