A busy start to the week here at LA First Aid Training as we begin implementing the new changes from the Resuscitation Council UK 🚑

On Monday and Tuesday, we delivered the 2-Day First Aid at Work Requalification course in East Riding of Yorkshire to delegates from The AMES Companies UK.

It’s always a pleasure to support first aiders in refreshing their knowledge, building confidence, and updating their lifesaving skills.

We then headed over to the east side of Hull on both evenings to deliver the Emergency First Aid at Work course to parents from Lambwath Lions RL🏉

A fantastic group who were fully engaged and committed to learning vital lifesaving skills 👏

Two full days of training, great energy, and brilliant learners throughout 🙌

🚑 AED training today — we taught the delegates how to use the actual on-site defibrillator… and it didn’t turn on.

Why? Pads not seated correctly 🔋❌

Simple issue. Big consequence.
Would you know how to use your defib in an emergency?

Our training goes beyond practice units — we teach the safe use of live defibrillators, because when it’s real, it has to work ❤️⛑️

🩸 Day 2 – Emergency First Aid at Work 🩹

Delivering catastrophic bleed and wound management training to prison staff today.
A bit of DIY ingenuity goes a long way in making training realistic and effective.

Catastrophic bleeds are something I deal with regularly at work, and teaching colleagues how to control them—using tourniquets, quick thinking, and improvisation—is incredibly rewarding.
