consultation sessions are tailored to your individual journey. We aim to make your experience with your pacemaker or ICD as manageable as possible, empowering you to lead a fulfilling life with peace of mind. About HeartSync Support

HeartSync Support was founded in 2023 by myself and my wife, Sarah Wilson-Jahangeer, now a nursing lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire, formerly of Bart’s NHS trust. Together, we bring almost 50 years of combined experience in cardiology. Our aim is simple: to support individuals with pacemakers and ICDs – and their families – as they navigate life with these life-changing devices. We do so with empathy, expertise, and a personalised approach. We believe that living with a cardiac device shouldn’t compromise quality of life. That’s why our bespoke packages offer practical advice, emotional support, and education tailored to each individual’s needs – whether they’re newly implanted or have had their device for years. Our support includes day-to-day management advice, long-term cardiac health education, and setting realistic expectations – all delivered with compassion and clinical understanding. No other service offers this level of personalised, non-clinical support for device patients. We work alongside healthcare teams to enhance patient care – not to replace it – and focus on bridging the gap between the clinical and emotional aspects of life with a device. Thank you so much, Isobel, for your kind and thoughtful words.

I am truly grateful that we were able to offer some reassurance and support during what has clearly been a very difficult and unsettling time. Recovering after a pacemaker implant is not only physical, it can be emotional too, and it is so important that people feel heard, understood, and properly supported.

Thank you again for placing your trust in HeartSync Support. Wishing you continued rest, recovery, and strength.

HeartSync Support provide specialist Pacemaker and ICD consultants committed to helping you live comfortably with your pacemaker or ICD – before and after your device fitting.

Atrial fibrillation, or AFib, is an irregular heartbeat that can lead to blood clots, stroke and other heart-related complications. If you have any of the signs – fluttering heartbeat, chest pain, fainting or loss of appetite – take them seriously. Ask the doctor about AFib at your next appointment.

If you have been encouraged to walk more, why not try the Hertfordshire & North Middlesex Ramblers. I recommend this group to many pacemaker patients who are looking to increase and diversify their exercise.
They are a lovely group who will help keep you fit. Walk at your own pace with great company. You may even visit a pub or two.
