What Is Therapy Message? Holistic massage is the use of hands or mechanical means, to manipulate the soft tissues of the body, particularly muscles. It is based on traditional Swedish massage but also incorporates a wide range of other techniques such as lymphatic drainage and deep tissue massage. It can be used for relaxation, stimulation or rehabilitation of the whole body or part of it. It promotes suppleness of the muscles, improves circulation and reduces muscular pain and stress. The muscles are manually stretched and encouraged to stop contracting. I also incorporate the Bellabaci cupping method where appropriate after consultation. Bellabaci cupping is a modified, simplified version of the Ancient Chinese Cupping method. It utilises the silicon hand squeezed vacuum cups to create negative pressure on the surface of the skin, this stimulates the circulation and lymphatic system to drain excess fluids and lactic acid build up in the muscles. It can be a great treatment for fluid retention, “heavy” legs or tight leg muscles from training, and cellulite it can also help to loosen stubborn “Old knots” by using negative pressure

Did you know? Our muscles are made up of strands of fibres; these fibres are responsible for the movement of muscle contraction. However the problem begins when they contract and then instead of relaxing they stay contracted, when these fibres won't loosen, and it is for the likening of this to a tangled piece of rope that we call it a knot. Not much is known about why this may happen, but some possible causes are injury, stress, emotional and physical fatigue, poor postural habits or working positions. When the fibres tighten the blood flow is restricted, and nutrients and oxygen have a tougher time getting into the belly of the muscle, and the waste has a tough time getting out. Imagine a tangled piece of rope, knotted when in the sea, and then left out in the sun; it dries and is ingrained with salt. Through pressure and manipulation massage starts to separate the fibres and untangle the knot, thus allowing fluids to move in and waste to move out.

Notice of price increase

Dear Clients,

Firstly thankyou all for an amazing 2024, it’s been a wonderfully busy year which is everything you dream of when being self employed, and I thank you all for your patience when trying to book in.
I really enjoyed the Jing Advanced Clinical Massage course and I hope you have all felt the benefits from the new techniques.
I really hadn’t planned to do any further training this year but when reading an news email from the Federation of Holistic Therapists they have developed an Entry gateway course to enable massage therapists to then go on to foundation level Acupuncture, this is something that I have wanted to learn about for a long time and a lot of people have asked me if I can do acupuncture so I feel there is a need for it.

However none of this unfortunately comes free, I try to keep prices as low as possible to keep it affordable for everyone, but as well as the costs of the course there is a legal requirement for me to have a licence from Carmarthenshire council which involves additional costs of nearly £800 so I have taken to the decision to increase all treatments by £2.50 from 5 April in line with the new tax year, this will help me fund the investment of new skills which I hope you will all benefit from.
With many thanks for being such lovely clients and making me love my job even more
