Vedaskinworkethic: a scientist in a medics body.

Whats the true difference with the curious and inquisitive amongst us? We want to know why...

I remember the day I handed in my thesis in the area of genetics of fetal cardiac development during my med school days and my professor sent me off into the world with the words "science's loss is medicine's gain". I haven't been able to shake it since.

So here I find myself years later. My connecting of dots in the blending of my careers is proving to show its true colours and I'm excited about it. I'm excited to be able to apply all of those hours of studying into what I love the most now; the skin.

Having that ridiculously picky approach to what I choose to provide has its merits and my approach into handling each patient involves alot of dicephering of their world within. Our skin talks its own language and you know something... I understand it. But its not in isolation; the intricacy of cross talk takes effort, intelligence and passion to learn to get to a point where you can predict what will happen.

That is me; the skintellectual.

Vedaskinworkethic: The power to heal correctly.

A sneak peak into the progress in a two phase approach to heal a skin wound in Fitzpatrick skin type 4 🙌

When the likelihood to pigment post healing is at its highest, well lets just say that smarty pants over here has refined and worked out how to minimise the post inflammatory hyperpigmentation that occurs after trauma in skin of colour.

Healing beautifully, all going to plan and that new skin appearing is almost ready for phase 2 of repair. The start to finish journey will be posted soon and I can't wait!

Vedaskinworkethic: Value of 'No'.

There's an energetic wave emerging which I'm trying to understand and navigate but this past week has revealed a new level of excitement which goes beyond what I expected.

I always thought my astrological level of pickiness was a flaw. Now it transpires it is the foundation to what is to come. Routed to the core of my practice are principles; whether it be aligned with scientific, psychological, holistic or medical direction.

The 'Yes' that will follow is far far greater than now.

Now I know everyone feels their sign is the best but sometimes it's a little fun to reflect on ourselves and make some connections:

Virgoan empathy is quite unique. As earth signs we feel, anticipate and are sensitive in alot of situations. Sometimes we are misunderstood.

We do overthink... gaaah it's been a challenge to overcome but definitely something I've got better at reducing.

Virgoan intuition is usually spot on. So much so its easy to ignore what we don't want to or find hard to accept. But it's vital for our wellbeing. I'm getting there!

We know ALOT. Especially in our fields of expertise. Maybe this is why I was born with words to say 😝

Virgoan's nurturing ability is our forte and sometimes our downfall. I use mine now to empower my clinical and business roles.

We tend to lead, represent and exert influence through our practical sense and are observant and deeply loyal. Unless you make a questionable move 😉

Vedaskinworkethic: in the way we perceive.

In my own journey to understanding the meaning of being an empath, this has stuck with me; no not everyone sees things the way I do or even can feel, reflect on or predict. Thats really ok now. It's really ok that others don't have the capacity to endure or hold grace in handling hurdles. It is how I do it all. Thats my superpower!

I share this concept with those under my care; we can't and shouldn't want to be like others physically or otherwise. It's plain toxic. In a world of push-pulling perceptions on the perfect this and the perfect that, in my industry which in my opinion has so much room for improvement in the way things are projected, who is anyone to tell you to do X so you can feel Y if it's to transform yourself so that you dont fit in with your expectations/look or feel unlike yourself/look or feel unrecognisable??

To change perception in a healthy way is to change your reality... for the better.

Vedaskinworkethic: Get to know who takes care of you.

Hi there 🙋‍♀️ to those new to me or those stopping by my page I'm Dr Patel/Dr Jigna/Dr P or chatterbox (so my Art Teacher once said). Born with words to say and most of the characteristics of being a Virgo and an empath, my purpose in life is split between the world of Medicine (part time GP) and Medical Aesthetics, Skin and Wellbeing and I practice in Essex, London, UK. I am defined by my identity Vedaskin® which I founded in 2016 and is derived from the sanskrit language. Knowledge of the skin feels apt and bonded to me.

I'm of the rare blood type: warrior ☝and fiercely protective of the loves of my life and my desire to nurture my work ethic. I'm an extroverted introvert and have a holistic and transparent approach. My tribe (patients) make me happy, fuel my passion and push me to do better for them. Happily obliged.

I'm totally winging my IG page, hold a raw, authentic and honest view and will challenge the sensitive and awkward topics. I love avocados, still hate aubergines and gherkins 🤢 and have a fear of horror films and pigeons.

Here I am greased up with my freshly microbladed eyebrows and my rosacea is out to play (second photo) so those who dont believe me can see it 😋.

To be truly knowledgeable is to connect the dots and encompass an entire holistic approach to skin rejuvenation. It is simply not enough to just manage the skin surface.

Whilst busy demonstrating the results and aftermath of what it's like to be under my care, there is something profound about this before we begin. Trust.

Trust is everything. But to be asked to take on challenging moments is a privilege. True understanding of the dynamics of the skin barrier is imperative. It's not enough to just know about the surface; what our skin barrier can endure, cope with, overcome or struggle to comprehend takes on a deeper logic and higher level of knowledge.

Formulating her plan using every skill is an honour.

Vedaskinworkethic: Did someone say she just used her guided skincare regimen by moi to achieve this?!

Meet my stunning youngin Carla .ce00 Now we met back in August 2021 and during life's in and out of lockdowns saga, the toll of mask wearing, stress, a bit of hormones and diet led her to me (actually the I'd like to think the universe led her to me when she delightfully completed my online consultation form on my bio 👆😬).

This is us; August 2021 on the left via a selfie and July 2022 on the right pre microneedling treatment. Appreciate the angle and lighting differs but HELLO!!

THE BEST BIT... ALL WE HAVE DONE IS SET HER UP ON A THREE STEP SKINCARE PLAN !!! That and tweaks to her wellbeing and mindset and may I just say how amazing is she and how ridiculously good her skin barrier health is so far 🙌

Carla you are absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to show the world how much you'll benefit from treatments too! We'll check in with her in a few weeks and hopefully see her feeling healthier than ever before she hops off globe trotting ✈ (but then comes back to me of course 😆).
