Join us at The Sanctuary for an Introduction to Light Weights

I am running two 45 minute sessions
The dates for these sessions are

Wednesday November 19th - 10.30am
Monday 24th November - 6pm

Introduction to Weights

It is never too late to start lifting light weights and seeing the benefits.

I am going to be running two sessions looking at how to incorporate light weights into your wellbeing regime. There is a lot of research evaluating and confirming how important strength work is for the health and longevity of the body and mind and I believe it is never too late to start and actually see and experience the benefits.

What are the benefits

Physically

Improve mind muscle activation
Build muscle
Increase bone density
Helps to take the weight and impact from your joints
Maintains movement and mobility for later years.

Mentally

Boosts mood - helping anxiety and depression
Improves sleep
Balances hormones - can help brain fog, focus, motivation and inertia
Increases confidence and self esteem

In our sessions I will guide you through a beginners upper body routine and show you some exercises to incorporate for a whole body tone.

There is no charge for these sessions but if you feel you would like to donate then a £5 donation to my charity of choice this year - mental health foundation

Embrace Cosy with Us

December Rest & Sound by Candlelight
Restorative yoga whilst being bathed by a gentle soothing sound bath.

Restorative yoga is a style of yoga that is passive and nourishing. It is all about slowing down , taking a pause and letting go. It is a restful practice that holds poses longer than other styles of yoga. In a typical session the teacher will guide you through 4-6 restful poses and your body will be supported by folded blankets, bolsters and cushions encouraging you to let go, to release holding and tension whilst focusing on your breath. A practice that can be adapted for all levels and can be experienced from a chair.

You will experience this practice whilst Michele lulls and soothes you with her layered sounds.

How do you start your morning? ....

Now , how would you like to start your morning?

I had got into an unhealthy habit of on waking up immediately checking my phone, checking my work email, doom scrolling etc and it was not doing me any good! I was feeling tired both physically and emotionally and lacked focus and motivation before even properly getting up. It was all becoming a bit too much so I decided that I had to make a change.

Making a change can feel a bit overwhelming but it does not have to be. Small swaps are manageable and can provide big results, small changes can be transformative.

My swap
Swapping my phone scrolling and email checking to doing something that helped motivate me - dancing in the kitchen , doing my weights, moving my body ( building good habits and breaking bad ones) has transformed my mornings and is helping me to be stay focussed and motivated for the rest of the day.

If you are struggling try rethinking some habits. Start with one change and see how you get on. If you would like some more advice then do get in touch and let me support you with your swap.

Our Story

A qualified yoga teacher specializing in Hatha and Hatha Flow . Classes take place in Sanctuaries around the local villages including a space at the bottom of my garden in Padbury. My classes are small, friendly and relaxed but also carefully structured to build steadily and increase all the fantastic benefits yoga can provide. I like to fuse both eastern and western ideas on yoga explaining the methodology and theology behind the movements and the language of yoga in my classes so that my students understand the Why as well as the How to get the most out of the experience. More information can be found on the website.
