Opticians are included in the list of services that remain available during lockdown. Bude Eye Centre will continue to provide full services by appointments only in order to comply with social distancing regulation. Please be assured that your safety and our staff’s safety is our priority and we have taken extra measures to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for all.

We politely request our service users to wear a face covering when coming into the practice. Please also allow a little more time for your visit due to extra sterilisation procedures needed in the practice.

Please kindly reschedule your visit if you have a cough or symptoms of a cold. This is to minimise airborne aerosol spread in a confined space. As you most likely all know by now, please do not visit your GP, pharmacist, optician or dentist etc if you suspect you have COVID-19.

Thank you all for your support and patience during this time, it is very much appreciated and we hope to see you all soon!

Really pleased to be given the green light to resume full and normal services again! We hope you have all been well during this unusual period. Please be assured that your safety and our staff’s safety is our priority and we have taken extra measures to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for all. Services are by appointment only to comply with social distancing regulations.

We politely request our service users to wear a face covering when visiting the practice (it doesn’t necessarily have to be a surgical type face mask if you don’t have one, a scarf or bandana will be fine). Please also allow a little more time for your visit due to extra sterilisation procedures needed in the practice.

Please kindly reschedule your visit if you have a cough or symptoms of a cold. As you most likely all know by now, please do not visit your GP, pharmacist, optician or dentist etc if you suspect you have COVID-19.

Thank you all for your support and patience during this time, it is very much appreciated and we hope to see you all soon!

To all our valued contact lens service users,

Further to our previous two posts in response to the the government's approach to the COVID-19 pandemic, please rest assured your regular contact lens supply will continue as normal without interruption so please do not let that be a concern. For patients on our registered automatic scheduled delivery system, we will be in touch with you individually to make suitable arrangements. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Dear all,

further to our post earlier today regarding practice changes due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Prime Minister has just made a new announcement which means we are now unable to see patients unless it is an absolute clinical emergency. This status is subject to change as the situation develops. The practice will no longer be open to the public and any emergency appointments will strictly be triaged via telephone first before an appointment can be made, if deemed necessary.

We know this is a difficult time for all but we do appreciate your understanding and cooperation in joining the government’s effort to slow/stop the spread of the virus. We will hopefully receive more information from our professional representatives and we will keep you updated of any new developments. Thank you once again for your patience.

Dear all,

I am sure you are all by now well aware of the COVID-19 outbreak and the government’s effort to try and stop the spread of the virus. As a result we have been advised by our professional bodies to join in the effort and a few changes will have to be made to our practice.

We will remain open with reduced hours to provide ESSENTIAL services only. Please call the practice on 01288-350041 to discuss your problems before attending the practice, where an optometrist will triage you to see if a visit to the practice is necessary. Unfortunately we will not be able to see any walk-in patients, or patients wanting a routine eye examination, until further notice. If you have broken your glasses, please ring the practice first and we will arrange an appointment to help you.

We will also have to ask a few more questions with regards to your health before we can make an appointment, so please be patient with us. Please also observe the 2m social distance and please do not be offended if we ask you to first wash your hands before anything when you first enter the practice. We are all trying our best to prevent the spread of the virus.

If you have symptoms of, or suspect you may have the virus, please do not attend your GP, or Pharmacist. Please call NHS 111.

As the government’s approach to the COVID-19 outbreak is rapidly changing, our professional bodies and representatives are doing their best to keep us up to date on best practices and we will attempt to update you as things progress. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
