A wonderful turnout at the war memorial in Budleigh this morning despite the gale force winds for a heartfelt service delivered by Reverend Robert Charles.

We are regularly inspected by the NAFD to ensure we are upholding the highest standards of care and professionalism. This is so important to us as it highlights our commitment, integrity and acknowledges our excellent standards of service.

Wow! 4 years ago today we opened our doors and what a journey it has been!
Thank you to everyone that has played even a small part in what we strive to do, serve our community the best we can.
Since opening Otter Valley and having the opportunity to follow my mantra “The answer is Yes, what is the question” we have been able to care for more families this year than ever before and more 5* feedback so we know we are doing it right. Here’s to year 5, who knows what it will bring, hopefully no more broken wrists…. Sy

Those who know me know that Budleigh Football Club has been at the heart of my family for over 30 years.
To be in a position to give back and support the club that I played in goal for at every level from u15’s to Veterans and that my Dad has been treasurer, chairman and president of means so so much to me!

What a weekend!! Friday night with Exmouth Chamber of Commerce at Ocean for the business awards. Then up to Nottingham for the Association of Independent Celebrants conference and awards. So proud of my good friend, podcast co-host and celebrant extraordinaire Camomile Ceremonies on her win!!!

This!!! I am a big supporter of Shop Budleigh and their Late Night Thursdays initiative is a great one! Support local independent businesses, they are the lifeblood of your community, their profits go back into the raffles at your kids school, to supporting your local “in bloom” to make where you live beautiful and most importantly helps someone who does what they do for their family not a head office!!!

This afternoon we received a spot inspection by the National Association of Funeral Directors

Extremely pleased to say that we passed our inspection with absolutely no issues.

The NAFD is a trade body that we have been members of for some years.

What does an inspection actually entail?

Our premises are scrutinised, the areas where we care for loved ones are inspected, our record keeping, the process for bringing people into our care, paperwork, having the correct documentation in place.

For me, this is an absolute must. Being members of the NAFD is an indication to the public and fellow professional organisations that we work with that we are a bona-fide, dedicated, professional business.

When arranging a funeral service and looking to entrust a funeral director, make sure you look out for NAFD logo.

There is a code of practice that we adhere to and are always notified of any changes and updates to our profession.
