This stunning owl carving is crafted in Zimbabwe from a rare serpentine called leopard stone, a hard magnesium silicate mineral. Leopard stone comes from small quarry mines in the Nyanga region and has been used for traditional Shona carvings down the centuries. Stone carving for the Shona people of Zimbabwe is part of their identity, an art form deeply rooted in their culture, and symbolises their connection to the natural world and ancestral spirits 🦉

This unique and charming owl carving is a symbol of wisdom, intuitive knowledge and deep connection. This sweet Veracruz Amethyst double terminated ta***ic twin has a complex growth, with another termination sitting between the twins at one end. The smaller twin has a 5 sided Isis face. The quartz displays soft purple and lilac hues, and inclusions within, and some rainbow flashes. An unusual and special quartz to add to a collection 🌿

Veracruz Amethyst is from a mountainous area near Las Vegas, in Veracruz state, Mexico. It is considered to be one of the finest amethyst in the world. It is mined as a family business, using hand tools, and wheelbarrows. The side of the mountain has several openings going into short horizontal tunnels., where they collect the amethyst. All the Veracruz amethyst in my collection has come directly from the miner 🍀
