📢 Important Notice regarding practice closure for Protected Learning Time 📢

🔵 The practice will be closed from 12.00 on Tuesday 18th November for Protected Learning Time, organised by Powys Teaching Health Board.

🔴 Should you need to contact a doctor between the hours of 12:00-18:30 please telephone 01743 455364. After 18:30 you should telephone 111.

⚪️ The Nearest Minor Injury Unit is Llandrindod Wells Hospital, who request you call ahead to book an appointment if you need to visit them.

⚫️ Repeat Prescription requests can still be posted into the surgery letter box or requested through the NHS Wales App.

Workforce Update – August 2025

Builth & Llanwrtyd Wells Medical Practice is delighted to announce several exciting developments within our team.

We are pleased to welcome three highly experienced GPs, who will be joining us on a permanent basis from September 2025:

Dr Williams – with a special interest in Women’s Health

Dr Gwatkin – bringing a wealth of experience from a background in Emergency Medicine

Dr Thomas – current lead for the Powys Community Cardiology Service. Mae Dr Thomas yn siarad Cymraeg.

In addition, we’re very pleased to welcome Dr Jenkins, who will be supporting the practice as a long-term locum.

We’re also excited to announce that a practice-employed Clinical Pharmacist joined our team in August 2025. Please join us in welcoming Ian to the Practice.

We would like to inform our patients that our Practice Manager, employed by Shropdoc, has been subcontracted to fulfil this role since January 2025. We are very pleased with the positive impact this partnership has had so far and plan for it to continue.
