🌟 A Lovely Time at Chevington Lodge! 🌟
There’s always something happening here at Chevington Lodge, and the past few days have been full of fun, laughter, and special moments 💛
🚶‍♀️ Exercise Time – Residents have been keeping active using our walking and cycle machines. It’s wonderful to see everyone supporting each other while staying fit and healthy!
📝 Whiteboard Word Game – A little friendly competition and lots of brain power on show! Our word game sessions always bring plenty of smiles (and a few tricky spellings!).
🎯 Hoopla Fun – Great aim, great cheers, and even better teamwork! Hoopla had everyone joining in and enjoying the challenge.
👶 Babysitting Our Reborn Doll – Some very tender and heartwarming moments as residents spent time caring for our beautiful reborn doll. It’s always so special to see the comfort and joy this brings.
🎂 Birthday Celebrations – We’ve also been celebrating some very special birthdays! Cake, candles, and lots of singing made for truly happy occasions.
Thank you to our amazing residents and staff for making Chevington Lodge such a warm and joyful place to be 💕

Last week, we came together as a community for our residents meeting - a valuable time to connect, share ideas and ensure every voice is heard.
These gatherings are an important part of life in our home. They give residents the opportunity to talk about what matters most to them, from activities & outings to menu choices & daily routines.
It is also a chance to welcome new residents & staff, with plenty of tea & cake.🍪🧁🍰☕️🫖

On Wednesday, we wrapped up warm & headed out to our local Pantomime at Denton Village Hall - and what a magical evening it was. 🎭🎭🎵🎶
There is something truly special about a traditional village panto, from the colourful costumes to the familiar songs & plenty of " Oh no it isn't" & " It's behind you" moments.
Our residents thoroughly enjoyed being part of the audience.
A big thank you to Denton Variety Club for their continued thoughtfulness in invite us every year, creating special memories for our residents. 🥰🥰

We have had a very busy week at Chevington Lodge.

We started the week of with our exercises, using our soft rackets & balloons. 🎾

Our creativity was flowing making colourful rainbows with tissue paper. 🌈

We went to the funfair with our games playing a very loud game of Tin Can Alley.

The weekend was extra special as we celebrated a lovely gentlemans 101st birthday with some yummy cake. 🎂

By Sunday we were ready for some relaxation, we listened to some cultural music trying to work out which country they were from. 🎶🎶

Finishing of with some ladies getting new nail colours and hand massages. 🧘‍♀️

We had a lovely week at Chevington Lodge got our cycle machines out and the residents choose if they wanted to do arm or leg exercises.

Everybody had fun 😊



We also had a lovely goodbye visit from Teddy the dog who was on his way back home to Hertfordshire. ♥️♥️

Looking forward to seeing him when he comes to visit again. 🐕

🦉✨ A Very Special Visit from Evie’s Owls ✨🦉

We had a truly lovely afternoon on Tuesday at Chevington Lodge when Evie’s Owls came to visit us, bringing along two beautiful owls to meet our residents. 💛

Mark gave a fascinating and informative talk all about the owls, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Residents then had the opportunity to gently stroke the owls if they wished — a wonderful, hands-on experience that brought lots of smiles and conversations. 😊

A big thank you to Evie’s Owls for such a memorable and enjoyable visit. We all had a fantastic time and hope to welcome you back again soon! 🥰

🎉🎂 Birthday Joy at Chevington Lodge! 🎂🎉

We’ve been busy celebrating three wonderful birthdays so far this month, and what a treat it’s been! 💕 From smiles and laughter to some truly yummy cakes 🎂🎂, every moment has been special.

❄️🎯🧠 Snowy smiles and indoor fun this January! 🧠🎯❄️

Our residents were delighted to see the first snow of January, watching the flakes fall and sharing memories of winters gone by. After enjoying the wintry views, it was time to warm up indoors with some friendly games of darts 🎯 and a fun word game 🧩 that got everyone thinking and laughing.

A perfect mix of fresh air views, good company, and engaging activities—just the way we like it! 💙

🎄✨ A little late, but full of Christmas cheer! ✨🎄

We may be a bit delayed in sharing, but the lovely memories from Christmas Day are still very much in our hearts. Our residents enjoyed a wonderful festive celebration, complete with a delicious roast dinner, the excitement of opening presents, and—most importantly—spending precious time with their families and loved ones.

There were lots of smiles, laughter, and special moments shared throughout the day, making it a truly meaningful Christmas for everyone involved. Thank you to all the families who joined us and helped make the day so special, and to our amazing team who worked hard to create such a warm and joyful atmosphere. ❤️

Better late than never—because these moments are always worth celebrating. 🎁🎅

🎄The halls are decked, the sherry is poured, and the sound of laughter is echoing! We are still buzzing from our incredible annual Christmas Party at Chevington Lodge. 🥂
This wasn't just any party; it was a heart-warming celebration bringing together our wonderful residents, their loving relatives, and our dedicated staff team.

Look at what made the day so special:
🎤 Fantastic Festive Fun: The brilliant Rob James kept everyone entertained with sing-alongs and classic Christmas tunes!
🎅 A Very Special Guest: We even had a visit from Santa Claus himself, spreading cheer and taking photos!
🎁 Prizes & Goodies: Our amazing raffle raised smiles (and funds!) with some fantastic prizes.
🥧 The Taste of Christmas: Mountains of delicious mince pies and a glass of warming sherry or non-alcoholic punch for everyone!

At Chevington Lodge, we believe that joyful, engaging activities are at the core of great dementia care. Moments like these not only create new memories but also help residents reconnect with treasured past feelings and traditions. Seeing the residents' faces light up as they dance or share a moment with Santa is what it's all about!

Our friends at Chevington Lodge in Bungay run their lovely Little Visitor Stay & Play sessions every other Monday from 10:30am–11:30am.

Their next session is on Monday 8th December, and it’s set to be extra special with a visit from Beebops Ltd, who will be leading an engaging music and movement session! 🎶💃🕺

A perfect opportunity for little ones to have fun, explore, and get moving while spending time with care home residents, who we hope they can start to get to know and become their older friends.
