​Our residents had a brilliant time at The Farmer’s Dog this afternoon. From the famous Diddly Squat crisps to a cold pint of Hawkstone for the gents, everyone enjoyed a little taste of the farm life.

🍷 Sunshine, Sips, and Seedlings! ☀️
​What a glorious day it has been here at the home! We’ve spent every moment making the most of this beautiful weather out in our gardens.
​Before lunch, we gathered in the courtyard for a little "Happy Hour" in the sun. There’s nothing quite like a chilled glass of wine and some good conversation to get the day going! It felt like being on holiday right here at home.

​This afternoon we headed to the Activities Garden for our gardening club. We spent a lovely few hours getting our hands in the soil:

​This morning we tried out Silver Swans Seated Ballet! It was a wonderful session filled with grace, music, and plenty of smiles.
​We focused on mobility, posture, and coordination, proving that you’re never too old (or too seated!) to find your inner dancer. It was the perfect way to get moving and lift everyone’s spirits.
​A Huge Thank You to Amy for visiting us and sharing her incredible expertise. Your patience and passion made the session so special for our residents—we’re all feeling a little bit more elegant this afternoon!

We had a fantastic afternoon of competition today during our monthly carpet bowls game.
​Huge congratulations to our newest resident, Jim, for clinical precision on the mats and taking home 1st Place! What a way to make an entrance—clearly, we have a new pro in our midst! 🥇
​A massive shout-out also goes to Muriel, who secured a very close 2nd Place. That makes it her third consecutive time on the podium—talk about a consistent champion! 🥈✨

🕒 Generations Connecting: The Hands of Time
​We had a heartwarming morning at The Cotswold Home today! Students from St. Peter’s School joined our residents for a special intergenerational project, sharing stories and comparing "Life Now vs. Life Then."
​The room was full of laughter and wisdom as they swapped memories and bridged the gap between generations. We’re so excited to incorporate these beautiful conversations into our "Hands of Time" wall project!

We’ve had a wonderful Saturday here, making the most of every moment.
​Morning Brain Power: We kicked things off with a competitive and colourful game of Qwirkle!
​Lunch with a View: Since the sun decided to join us, we headed outside for a crisp glass of wine in the sunshine. It was the perfect way to relax and enjoy the fresh air before lunch.
​Film Club: This afternoon, we gathered for Film Club to watch the classic Nanny McPhee. It was an absolute hit! Between the "magic" and the heartwarming story, there were smiles all around the room.

The sun was out, and so were we! 🕶️ We had a fantastic time exploring Witney this afternoon—it’s safe to say our shopping bags (and our hearts) are full.
​It was a highly successful trip with some essential boxes ticked:
​⌚ A stylish new watch strap.
​👗 A few fresh additions to the wardrobe.
​🕶️ And a trendy pair of sunnies, just in time for the bright weather!
​We wrapped up the afternoon at the Corn Exchange, enjoying a lovely cuppa and a spot of people-watching while soaking up the sunshine. It truly was the perfect afternoon! ☕✨

Happy St. George’s Day !
​We decided to celebrate the dragon-slayer himself today with a classic British afternoon tea, but things didn't quite go to plan in the kitchen!
​Sonia led the baking session, and well... let’s just say she won't be winning Star Baker on Bake Off anytime soon! 😂 Our scones decided they didn't feel like rising today—they ended up looking more like Welsh Cakes than fluffy scones.
​The Verdict?
​Appearance: 2/10 (Flat as a pancake!)
​Taste: 10/10 (You can’t go wrong once the clotted cream and jam come out!)
​Fun Factor: Off the charts!
​We might not have mastered the art of the rise, but we certainly mastered the art of having a good giggle. There’s never a dull moment when Sonia is in charge of the flour!

​✨ Morning Pampering
​We started the day on a relaxing note with a foot spa for the lovely Eileen. There’s nothing quite like some quality 1-on-1 time; we had a wonderful chat over a cuppa while she enjoyed a good foot soak.
​🎂 Happy Birthday, Tony!
​A huge Happy Birthday to Tony, who celebrated her special day today! She had some quality time with her family. 🎈
​🍵 The Great Tea Tasting
​This afternoon, we turned into tea connoisseurs! We hosted a tea party to sample a variety of flavours, from classic hot brews to refreshing iced teas.
​To make it even better, we served up plenty of warm, toasted tea cakes to enjoy alongside our drinks—the building smelled absolutely delicious! 🥯
​The Winners: Our traditional Breakfast Tea and the fruity Cranberry & Raspberry were the big hits of the day.
​A New Favourite: For many of our residents, it was their first time ever trying Iced Tea! It was a total success, with everyone finding it incredibly refreshing.
​Given how much everyone enjoyed the iced tea, we’ll be making sure we’re fully stocked up so we can enjoy these long, cool drinks throughout the summer! ☀️
