Recently the Allotment group has been hard at work topping up our raised planters with fresh compost that was delivered to Burnside! 💪🪴

Everyone got stuck in moving soil with wheelbarrows, spades, and shovels, to make sure our planters are ready for the next round of growing. These planters are where we grow delicious crops to take home or use in our Cook My Lunch sessions. 🍅🥕🥔

Our team has been exploring fresh ways to design and make unique handmade items, and we’re now the proud owners of a Cricut machine! Everyone has loved experimenting with vinyl designs to personalise a variety of items. 🎁✂️

On Monday, the rain kept us indoors, but that didn’t stop us from getting creative! Instead of heading out, we stayed at Burnside and made two beautiful bird boxes. One for Wrens, Robins, and Wagtails, and another just right for Blue T**s. 🐦💚

Everyone had a go using both hand tools and power tools, working together to measure, drill, and assemble the boxes. Now all that’s left is to find the perfect spot to put them up! 🪚🔩✨

Back in October, our Self-Advocacy group planned an exciting bowling trip to Crawley and what a fantastic time we had! 🚌💬

Everyone enjoyed using the VIP lanes, showing off their bowling skills, and sharing plenty of laughs and a little friendly competition.😉

It was great to see everyone working together, making choices about the day, and celebrating each other’s strikes and spares! 🌟👏

A big well done to the group for planning such a fun and inclusive outing, we can’t wait for the next one! 💙

This week’s dance session went off with a bang as we celebrated Guy Fawkes Night in style! 🎆

Our warm-up got everyone moving to fire and firework-themed tunes - the perfect way to get into the spirit of the season. Then, the group worked together to choreograph and perform an amazing routine to “Disco Inferno” 🔥🔥

With colourful pom-poms adding extra sparkle to the performance, the room was full of energy, teamwork, and plenty of smiles! ✨

Well done to everyone who took part, you really lit up the dance floor! 💥

Happy Halloween!!🧙

Something strange was happening around Burnside this week… 👻🎃

The DCG team grabbed their cameras and went on a Halloween adventure and guess what? We weren’t alone! 👀

Our lenses captured some mischievous ghosts enjoying a few Burnside activities. From spooky crafts to sporting mischief! 🕸️🧹

This week, our Nature and Conservation group enjoyed a peaceful visit to Warnham Nature Reserve, taking time to observe the beautiful wildfowl around the lakes and then identify them using our trusty reference books 📖✨

On the walk back, we couldn’t resist collecting a few sweet chestnuts to bring a little bit of autumn home with us 🌰🍁

Last week in our dance session, we had an amazing time choreographing a spooky, fun-filled routine to the classic ‘Ghostbusters’ theme! 👻

Everyone worked together to create some fantastic moves and the energy in the room was incredible. To top it off, our dancers performed their routine to the whole service at the end of the session, and it was a huge hit! 🎉👏

Well done to everyone who took part! You really brought the Halloween spirit to life! 🎃🕺
