Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy where the therapist is able to communicate directly with your subconscious mind. You are taken into a deeply relaxed state where your conscious mind can be bypassed. Your subconscious will not allow anything bad to happen to you while in hypnosis so you can rest assured that you will not be made to do things against your will. What is Hypnosis
Many people think of hypnosis as some kind of weird mind control technique, it is not. Hypnosis or hypnotic trance is the term given to an altered state of consciousness, when you brain waves are running at a slower pace. Beta waves are when you are fully alert and raring to go. Alpha waves are when you are day dreaming, Theta waves are when you are between day dreaming and fully asleep, this is the state you in in during hypnosis and Delta waves are when you are in a deep sleep. You are in a Theta state just before you drop off to sleep and just as you are waking up, also when you are driving home on a familiar route and you arrive back without remembering the journey. You are still in control and can react to keep yourself safe, but your mind is somewhere else. There are several different levels of trance and the deeper the hypnotist can take you, the more responsive you are, up until the final state which not many people can reach when you are as though you have been anesthetised, but you can still hear in this extreme state and so can people that have actually been anesthetised for an operation although they do not know consciously what was said.

High Blood Sugar & Diabetes
We have all been made aware that obesity is a major cause of diabetes, so those of us that have put on weight over the Christmas break, now is the time to do something about it. The Paleo diet is very healthy and has been shown to reduce weight, lower blood pressure, stabilise blood sugar and reduce cholesterol, so it is well worth giving it a try. Time restricted or intermittent fasting could prevent diabetes as it reduces high blood sugar levels and reduces insulin dependency. Either the 5:2 diet or fasting overnight for 12 to 14 hours tend to work. Cinnamon can slow the absorption of sugar into the blood stream, reduces cholesterol as well as being an anti-inflammatory which helps reduce arthritis symptoms. Add cinnamon to as many foods as you can or take a supplement. Pine nuts can also slash your fasting blood sugar, improve your insulin resistance and protect your heart health. If you combine all 4 methods, you should be well on your way to reducing your risk of diabetes. Those that are struggling to adapt to the new situation, could always try hypnotherapy.
